well since this show is SCI-FI (science-fiction) i think that it is the writters porogitive to stretch the relms to possibility for good TV... i mean WARP drive, and transporters, they are cool, but theoretically impossible! This show is great... pitty about the male lead... he is rather poorly written, and can be irritating at some points... but then again he did loose his brother, so maybe it is a mental thing... atleast he has not been tempted by the lead female... once that happens i will abandon this show!

yes this show is progressing slowly, however all the great TV shows do... setting the story is key, they are feeding us information piece by piece and i am loving it... yes they could speed it up a bit, but putting all this plot into three episodes would spoil it and that would make me less likely to watch it... loving this show so far, cannot wait for the next episodes next year!

Okay jsut to set the WW2 fact straight March 15/16 - Nazis take Czechoslovakia. March 28, 1939 - Spanish Civil war ends. May 22, 1939 - Nazis sign 'Pact of Steel' with Italy. Aug 23, 1939 - Nazis and Soviets sign Pact. Aug 25, 1939 - Britain and Poland sign a Mutual Assistance Treaty. Aug 31, 1939 - British fleet mobilizes; Civilian evacuations begin from London. Sept 1, 1939 - Nazis invade Poland. Sept 3, 1939 - Britain, France, Australia and New Zealand declare war on Germany. So infact the Allies, then Britain, France, Australia and New Zealand let the Germans only take over ONE conntry before delaring war... not HALF OF EUROPE... i do not think that letting Hitler take over places such as Czechoslovakia was "weak willed" by the allies, i mean the Americans did fuck all until they were attacked by the japanese on Dec 8, 1941, and infact the USA didnt declare war on Germany, it was the other way round! The allies, did nothing because starting a war was/is wrong, a concept GWB doesn't get, however corrupt a government may well be. However being weak willed was something that Churchill was not, i mean he stuck threw the war when pretty much every country in the war was either over-run or not in the war... Stalin, and his russian soldiers can hardly be called weaked willed, when retreat was not an option... i think yes you may have a point that male writers cannot write a strong female lead, however Threshold 7/10 episodes written by Anne McGrail (A FEMALE)... And since this is a female writer and since Carla Gugino as Dr. Molly Anne Caffrey, is in my opinion annoying as a female lead, not quite as annoying as the lead of Stargate - Atlantis, and also since you said, that you have not seen positive female roles/characters, you are admitting that female leads, even when written by females are not great either. Now is that because female leads, cannot be portrayed in a positive light because there are no real-life people to base those roles on, or is it because females who claim to be just as equally equiped to lead as males, cannot write a fictional charater that they would like to be like! I personally have nothing against females in leadership, i just think that females feel less equal than men, however that is not the fault of the men, but the negative attitudes that they have towards men and that is not helping them to progress in the world! So before you decide to further argue with me an educated male, who respect females, please- 1 - get your facts straight 2 - realise that females, in your own words are just as in-ept as male writers! skill and arogance i guess... lol, i am however only venting my frustration that it seems more and more that females are getting leads in TV shows, not because they are good actors, which i must say Dr. Elizabeth Weir played by Tori Higginson is not! From a Stargate perspective, RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON is an excelent "actor" as is AMANDA TAPPING. However this does not automatically make them great leaders, which i must say as the are written they are! However just as was the emphasis of the "token black man/person" in Tv shows there seems to be a movement towards lead female characters in TV shows, for example- Threshold - Carla Gugino Surface The 4400 (kinda - more like a mulder and scully duo) and Atlantis it may well be the way that this charater is written, but she is the most annoying character that i have ever repeatedly watched, she is a civilian in charge of the "safty of earth" and she is not will in to make the big choices easily like anyone faced with that kinda of responsibility should be able too, and when she does she feels "bad" about it! She just has this way of making her way seem the only correct way and she ALWAY is emphasising and pushing her point of view on people, it is just annoying! much like the word "annoying"! Threshold's lead female does this a bit, but if is in less of an annoying way, as she is willing to admit that she is wrong, however Dr. Elizabeth Weir dose not! In the most recent episodes of Atlantis, Dr. Elizabeth Weir has to interigate a memeber of staff, Cavanough, but first of all she argues with Major Caldwell, captian of the Deadulus, that she should do the interigation... why... it is as much a military matter the security of earth as it is now a civilian matter... come on Elizabeth! Yes, Cavanough is not guilty and Caldwell is a gould so once again she is proven right again, not threw her own doing but threw that of the clever writers who saved her butt! She tries to lead and be the big "woman" but just looks stupid doing it, yes there is room for strong female leaders, but if you are going to have one as your lead, atleast make her NOT annoying and NOT have the atitude the she does! Lastly http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9708504/site/newsweek/ is an excelent article on this topic, the is only one real and not fictional woman in power in the USA, and the only female leader of the country that i am part of the UK nearly killed our economy! http://www.thewhitehouseproject.org/v2/press/2005/September/20050925-baltimoresun.html , here once again talks about women in power, but noticibly remarks on the fictional rather than the factual ones... This lack of female leadership will undoubtibly change, maybe for the better or for the worse, who knows? yes females are less agressive, but then there was the amazonians and that other famous roman/greek rebel leader who i cannot remember at the minute... so in the future when we are ruled by females i will have no problem, just so long as we are not financialy bankrupt and ruled by some evil aliens who take us over after the "less agressive" females declare world peace and burn our weapons like they did in the simpsons! peace out, but not too much peace...

well can you not just ban the leaching mo-fo's? and how did they complete so quickly? i am dl @ about 5kbs and seeding at nearly 200kbs (4GB upload now) - server connection (not this shitty 10MB line) where is the bandwidth for people like me??? all i have is the first episode since i couldn't wait to get it, the others are at about 10-15% complete! aaaagh!

well i was right, i went to bed, woke up and there was the torrent ready for me to download, and as i perdicted once i got home i had downloaded a measly 300MB, and uploaded nearly 2GB!, i mean i love helping to seed and all, but i don't even have a complete episode to watch after 9 hours or work, that is just terrible! oh well my bit-prog is reporting that i only have to wait another 3 weeks to get the torrent, hmmm hopfully it is lying!
