One thing I found deceiving was the fact all the dice were in a line as if their position mattered. It made me try to develop patterns based on that at first :P

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Movie!
nuages replied to GeneralLee's topic in General Sci-Fi & Fantasy
You may not need to bother with allt his ripping and encoding in the sci fi misc section is a torrent for the radio series and the 1981 tv mini -series. its on the second page of the sci-fi misc page and is called Hitch Hikers Guide To the Galaxy(Complete Radio MP3 +DVDRip) -
Think of the new episodes as 2 parters each part back to back :P

This is actually the second solar sail to be launced, one was launcehed before and tested, it was just the sail though, this is the first time with a craft attached to it.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Movie!
nuages replied to GeneralLee's topic in General Sci-Fi & Fantasy
Umm in a brief summary, MJ Simpson who wrote Douglas Adams biography Hitchiker says its BAD. And basically describes how it not only bastardizes the HHGTG universe but also is just a plain bad movie in itself. She goes on in details for like 4 pages. The site will probably be back up tommorw, must have been slashdotted. Either way it makes me scared to see the movie now :P although i think deep down i think its possible maybe she is overreacting or just watching it the wrong way. Hopefully its really a great movie, and it was a practical joke or she is crazy. Which sadly I don't think she is crazy. -

Here are some links to some various trojans and worms... some older relevant articles, but not to old like 6 months. I'm not sure what happened with that one solar sail launch though. http://www.space.com/missionlaunches/cosmos-1_update_041109.html http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2004/08/040810102738.htm http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2004-10/uow-npc101404.php

My name is william(21), i'm a second year physics major(who spends more time watching and reading about make beleive physics then real physics) at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Canada. Which as a city is most noted as having the largest finish population outside of Finland. So we got lots of saunas here, which is deffently one of my hobbies. We are also possibly the furthest city away from majot natural disastors. Along with saunas, I enjoy reading, and music, and watching star trek. Along with others here I abstain from any substance abuse. Although i am probably more extreme then others, and won't even have a sip of alcohol. I also do a radio show from 4pm-6pm(est) on tuesdays and you can tune in at www.luradio.ca . I am also very proud to say that I am a Wesley Crusher fan :P.

name a religion that isn't :P I think it should be in the deffintion of religion, otherwise it should be called a loose set of beleifs

I'm not christian myself, but christianity is too broad a religion to say that, there are SOOOO many different denominations i don't want to even see a list of them, some deffently non-harsh denominations are the unitarian universalists, which i went to as a child, my dad an agnostic was drawn there, was a very interesting church. Although it was officialy christian, atheists, agnostics, muslism, buddhists, and many other people of different religious faiths attended there. I remember going to a sermen that was on surfing, and that was it nothing religious about the sermen it was simply about surfing. Although united church is a much more christian church then the unitarians, they are still extremely open and the view points even in that one denomination varies. I've been to a few different united church's as my grandfather was a minister, and he still attends church regular, and when my family visited him we would go to church with them. He went through a different churchs in his area all united, but quite different, one was more typically christian, with a minister who was typically christian. My grandfather now attends a united church, actually i think its not a church yet but is official a united mission or something or other. Anyways the minister there doesn't beleive as jesus as the son of god, but views him as simply a teacher, and sees the bible as a collection of stories. So although i am bothered by what i'm sure your bothered by in alot of christian denominations, I really don't like to see all christians grouped together under one-term good or bad. I love my grandfather and deeply respect his faith he has, and i have christian friends whose faith i respect, and with both i see nothing harsh about or anything to criticize that doesn't simply have to do with personal perspective. Alot of different denominations and people throughout history and currently deffently can be labeled as what i would say is beyond harsh, what i would call evil ala hitleresque, but not all christian and denominations or the current form or past form of those denominations that way. The same really goes for any other religion too.

I know with the face, they got an image from another perspective and it looked completely different, either way this isn't about whether there is life or not, its what you hope for. And this world is deffently overpopulated, we don't have the natural resources to sustain the worlds population at the level of living that i'm sure almost everyone on this site is at. And i don't think many people at that level would want to give that standard up. And even if we do overpopulate mars if it were to say be colonized, at least that would alleviate problems temporarly, and a better solution may have been found, or we might end up with some sort of funky space station colonies. Either way I don't see that as an argument since if humans didn't find somewhere else to spill its population into we would just die off faster. Its sort of a give up attitude in my opinion to not try to spread our population out cause we will just overpopulate again.
