It's also got the guy who played Admiral Leyton in it aswell. Looks pretty good.

I thought that was a really good episode! I think the new Doctor is good, certainly better than I thought he was going to be (although I knew I'd enjoy him anyway). He wasn't doing much until he mimicked that alien which made me laugh, then I knew he was a Doctor. I look forward to the spring!

That Ubuntu is pretty neat, they have a 'live' version you can download that runs from CD so you can get a feel for it before you install anything. I've not got round to installing it yet but I probably will soon. My brother uses it on his laptop (dual linux/xp), he rarely uses the xp half and has no problems with it. Wine also works a treat too.

I'm always amazed by how many episodes go into a series of an American show, in Britain you're lucky if you get more than 6. But then, the producers put as much effort into them as possible so you get 6 of the best ever episodes. ST has some really bum episodes alongside some really good ones. Maybe they should concentrate on making a really good series that should be as long as it needs to be, rather than trying to stretch it out to fill some preset requirement. And since ST is on a hiatus they can take as long as they like to come up with a damn good idea.

Haha exactly! Give some of the crew characteristics like those in the mirror universe. I know the whole idea of Trek is that humans are supposed to be enlightened and wonderful, but come on... we're humans. As great as we are, there will always be people like those in Enterprise who hate aliens, have predjudices, etc. Let's see a couple of flaws ;)

The good thing about the original ST was that they didn't have a clue what they were going to come across, they weren't searching for an answer to anything or looking for something in particular, they were just exploring, investigating what was out there. It was a reflection on what was happening at the time with men going into space, landing on the moon, etc. All that has started again with space exploration and trips to Mars, why shouldn't a new series be about just checking out what's out there? Have a few old faves but I want to see more of different things, species, anomalies, planet eaters, etc. I'd also like to see less Federation beurocracy and get some more questionable judgemnts made. Or they could be a bit renegade, with an alchy captain or something heh.

I like the idea of TV movies. I know they can sometimes be cheesy, but they're a good way of getting more stories made without having to worry about box office hits. Maybe if they did get a new crew, one of them could be some hot-shot mechanic and work on B4 so he becomes more like Data. Or something. A series of movies would be cool. Like a trilogy...

I always thought Voyager should have been darker, it all seemed too light-hearted for the unfortunate situation they were in. Janeway was a good captain, but not my fave of the franchise. Most of the characters were wooden at the start of each series, look at Sisko! Although I'm disappointed that so many people hated Enterprise, I thought it was a really good series that should have gone on longer. I'd probably rate my fave captain order as Picard, Kirk (just 'cos), Archer, Sisko Janeway. Sisko was better in the later eps (I still havn't seen season 7, dunno if the Beeb showed it) but I prefered some of the situations Archer got into.

With that z500 series, you have to have your computer on at the same time if playing from it? Or does it store files internally? Edit - I noticed some people on here have their TVs hooked up to their comps with a video card... what is the best card to go for? I'm still viewing on my PC but I prefer sitting down at the telly to watch something, and that seems like a pretty cheap solution. Cheers!

I watched BOBW recently and they are way scarier in that, the way the Federation react to them etc. By Voyager they just seem like part of the scenery, although don't get me wrong, I love every episode with the Borg in. The one in Enterprise was cool too.

Tennant doesn't suit the leather jacket, hope he wears something silly.

That IMDB listing says that Kevin Eldon was the bad wolf (was that his voice?) and some woman doing the voice of the TARDIS in ep13. Absolutely stunning episode by the way!

I thought it was funny that he said Bad Wolf was a coincidence, what would be even funnier would be if it actually was, and they'd planned it really well to get everyone worked up about it. But still, the Daleks :D

if you had chosen the 10TH doctor, who would it have been?

He did a piss-take Dr Who once, can't remember what it was for though. Probably some charity thing. I would go with Richard E. Grant as well, he's eccentric enough. I don't think his web cast is too much to worry about when it comes to Dr Who "canon", they've monkeyed around with so many things over the years that it doesn't really matter - there've been a couple of rogue doctors in the past that didn't fit anywhere. -
The Gorn should've been a man in a suit.

Yeah some interesting points there, I'm a big HHGTTG fan and I'm going to see the film tomorrow night. I'll pass comment when I see it. -
It was a great episode, although the baddie next week is Simon Pegg so it can't be that bad an episode! Looking forward to more Daleks though, I highly doubt that's the last of them.

I've just watched it and thought it was brilliant. Some of the acting was a bit cheesy, but Phlox was ace. I'm still wondering why they dress up in the next episode?

When has Dr Who been fully serious? He always takes a comical stance on anything so it doesn't turn into a big drama. When I started watching Dr Who it was repeats of Jon Pertwee (he's still my fave) but I havnt seen them in ages. I got spearhead from space on DVD and remember just how great it was, and despite the idea of the story being serious he was anything but. This is a kids show (despite the number of adult viewers ;)) and a damn good one at that. I think this new series is ace, probably not the best Dr ever, but still high quality. I'm amazed so many people take it so seriously. Looking forward to the Daleks a week on Sat ;)

I just watched this episode and thought it was fantastic! Sometimes it's nice to get away from weighty storylines and just have a laugh. It was so heavily influenced by TOS it's unreal but that was it's charm. Unfortunately due to poor TV programming I've not seen a lot of ENT from season 3 or 4 so things have changed slightly. I think I prefer T'Pol as she is now than at the beginning :)
