nuages
So Sci-Fi channe's got Firefly now and they are going to show all the episodes that we're made even the un-aired ones in proper order. YEAH!!!, maybe after the sucess(prays) of the movie they will think of producing more episodes.
GorunNova
Whoohoo! <- liked Firefly... and of COURSE it's goodness led to its cancellation.
tr0042
That's great. My Tivo missed a couple and the out of order showing on Fox just made it confusing. Sci-fi has really started to make me like it a bit more after some of the bad moves it made in the past.
elderbear
Having now seen all the episodes 3 times, in order, since the end of April, I'm glad it's getting airplay (cableplay?) again. I hope the response will be such that Joss Whedon get picked up to do more episodes - I suspect that the movie will help
nuages
Also supposedly Joss Whedon will get the oppurtunity to do two more movies if this one does well also!!!
erina
It would be very cool if joss got the oppertunity to continue with the series, though I have not seen the movie so who knows what state that leaves the universe in. Would be quite hard to get everybody together again though, i would imagine.
BorisP
It was easy to predict it's cancellation. The casting was all wrong. The young doctor did not belong. They would not give respect or much air time to the old guy, forget his name. The jerk guy should have been captain since he had a stronger personality. The captain should have been leutenant since he had the weaker personality.
TheLunatic
But, the girl who took care of the engine was good.... I missed parts of it when it originally aired....because I was on Adelphia back then, and they didn't care that nobody was getting any video for Fox (good thing they are gone, because they didn't carry SciFi). elderbear
Also supposedly Joss Whedon will get the oppurtunity to do two more movies if this one does well also!!! Joss Whedon is as powerful a mythologist as George Lucas. I have loved everything he produced - although the original Buffy movie was only "OK." Most of his works are also Morality Plays. I look forward to Serenity (hoping I get to screen the first showing) and I Desperately Hope he'll get to do three movies and have Firefly picked back up! SoCalWolf
Excellent! I missed it when Fox aired it as I was working 2 jobs at the time and Fox pretty much randomly switched the airtime around didn't they? Anyway, I rented the first two DVD discs from Blockbuster and really enjoyed them. I'd like to see the rest of them.

Joss Whedon excells at creating his story and his mythos along with an engaging world, which is really hard to do.

He did say though that (because he was really kicked in the groin on several occations in various ways) he wouldn't continue with any more eps of Firefly after it got canceled - though that COULD perhaps change after the movies are released. Anyone lately around on IRC heard how I felt about firefly being cancelled in the midst of exellance!
nuages
Here is a great relevany penny acade comic (foul language warning), just incase anyone missed it so hilarious, can't wait for the movie and it would be amazing if josh whedon got to do anything more with firefly, not matter what it is, after this movie. ratboy
I'm a huge Joss Whedon fan and I had a hard time getting into Firefly at first. The main reason is the way FOX aired it. They skipped the pilot episode and aired the second episode first. Then it aired at irregular intervals. Because of this, the audience had a hard time following it. We did finally get to see the pilot episode, the final episode FOX aired. The reason Firefly failed on FOX was that FOX didn't understand the show. They didn't know what to do with it, so they didn't push it. Watching the complete series on DVD versus on FOX was the difference between night and day. Watching ALL the episodes in the correct order, the show made perfect sense. I hope that Serenity does well and spawns the two proposed sequels. If only to spite FOX. ;-)
GorunNova
Translation: Fox were idiots who don't know that one should play shows 1) sequentially, and 2) regularly if they want viewers. It's a pity... from what I've seen of Firefly it's a good series.
IamLou
I'm happy that Firefly might be coming back. Sci-fi shows on main US networks have always had a raw deal. And even if our GREAT ONE says otherwise, I think the cast was a good bunch and the storyline promised a lot.
