Becuase Christopher Eccelson dosen't want to be type casted for his role in Doctor Who. He thinks by continuing that role, he may not be elegable for other roles, becuase he'd be too closely assciated with Doctor Who.

Yep, that's right. However there is one small flaw in his (Ecclestons) logic. One caveat, you might say. That is, that once you appear on screen as the Dr. Even if it is only one time you will forever be known as the Dr. no matter what rolls you play in the future. Anyone who sees you will say "Hey look, the Dr. is in this movie, TV Show, etc." So Chris im sorry to see you leave but brother it really is too late. You are already type cast.

Having just seen Episode 13, I am truly sad to see this Doctor go--while I hold high hopes that the series will continue to grow and prosper, I had really come to like Christopher Eccelston's Timelord.

It's a true shame that he couldn't have stuck around for another season or 2.

Dont be sad though, we'll have an even better doctor next time :

1) He's a fan of the series.

2) Its his DREAM job.

3) Dr who is why he got into acting!

4) He's scottish ;)

5) He has a quirky look to him!

6) He's an EXCELLENT actor.

And most importantly....

7) He's got TOM BAKERS APPROVAL

:D:D:D

I'm happy that Doctor Who is back, and I think Tennant will be fantastic. Although I'm not happy that BBC America isn't airing Who here in the US.

I've the same feelings about typcasting as well Moonstalker' date=' they'd have to bury me in the TARDIS to get me out of it.[/quote']

Sure does. Speaking of cake, I heard a rumor that you even had a TARDIS birthday cake. So I don't know, there are a few hints that you're a Doctor Who fan, but one of these days you'll slip and we'll find out for certain! ;)

I think tennant will remain being the dr for a while, its great he's a fan and that he considers it his dream acting job, looking forward to seeing him as the doctor.

To be honest i am gobsmaked that the american channels have'nt picked it up yet with the gr8 season its just had and the positive feed back by the Britsih pulic and press...as its well worth all the hype its got and there isnt many shows that can actually say that sci-fi or not.

It's because its too British neo, that's one of the reasons they cited for not picking it up. I had to howl when I watched an interview with Philip David Segal (The guy who produced the Dr. Who TV movie) where he's talking about the fact his movie bombed, was they took the 'Britishness' out of it.

TV Man: There is even supposed to be photographic evidence! But I don't believe that for a moment!

To quote him : "I'd love to do hundreds of episodes, but lets concentrate on the first season at the momment"

Yep, he'll stick around, I hope he does at least three years personally.

We need a doctor that will stick around for a good time, the last four have been too short lived, allthough 6,7 and 8 not by there fault.
