wbgeorge
I just downloaded "The Five Doctors" and was a bit surprised by the little vortexes that capture each of the characters. It's different from the original release. Does anyone know of other updates?
GorunNova
... the Daleks shoot little flying blue beams, and I don't remember that from the original. Also, the checkerboard has lightning bolts now, not lazer beams.
roach
According to "A Brief History of Time (Travel)", there were two different video tape editions and one on DVD. The first video tape edition (1985) contained the episodic version as originally broadcast (i.e., the version broadcast outside the UK, as The Five Doctors was broadcast in one piece in the UK). The second video tape edition (1995) contained some retouched scenes, this seems to also be the version that was finally pressed onto the DVDs. Drake34
I think they did this for some of the other DVDs too.
GorunNova
*remembers the DVD intro to 'The Dalek Invasion of Earth' and the flying saucer*... yup, they did.
Fenriswolf
The Time Scoop was nothing more than a spinning black triangle in the original, they decided it was a bit crap and remastered it.
