We here in Oz never get anything at the same time, the best I've noticed has been 4 weeks behind.

 

And we haven't even had S4 of Enterprise yet. I'll have the boxset before it even makes it onto TV. Which is bad though because if you have the set you rarely watch it on TV and this makes the ratings look bad. Although, I had already seen all of S1 of BSG before it finished on our TV, but I did still watch it, I would have felt guilty if I hadn't.

I doubt if your watching it will affect the ratings. I don't know about Australia, but here the ratings are measured by a randomly chosen group of families (supposed to be "avarage") that have a special box connected to their TV which monitors what they watch, and how they grade it.

If you don't have such a box you have no influence on the ratings whatsoever. There's no way it can be measured how many people actually watch a show.

Yeah. the Season 1 DVD of Dr. Who 2005 came out before the season even aired here. It's kinda stupid, and as I said it encourages piracy.
