IF, as in Index File (Castrovalva)

F, dont think Ive seen a F for a while!

*BUZZER.*

Already used, by me,in fact.

And, it doesn't end in, "F," either; it ends in, "E," So, the "F," is no good either.

So, I think we have to replay, and start with an another, "I."

Under the "I," so far we have had.

Ian Chesterton

Icca (Inner Constellation Corrective Authority, 3rd Doctor, Carnival of Monsters, season 10).

Ice Warriors (used twice)

Idiot (Kinda - you know it you understand the reference)

IF (aka Index File)

Impregnable

Inferno

Insecticide DN6 (Planet of Giants)

Insufficient data (K-9’s lament) *used twice

Interstitial time (time monster)

Ionic Column

Edit: Wait. I've found a word that starts with, "I," and ends in, "P."

It's Isop (Galaxy where Vortis was located, The Web Planet, szn2)

So, carry on. :cyclops:

Im confused now :) Are we on R?

Yes! :cyclops: The last valid entry we had was Hines, Frazer.

(Isop was a replacement for, IF and Fury from the Deep. Hence, Prof. and the second occurrence of Fury from the Deep are invalid. The first occurrence of Fury from the Deep was disallowed because IF actually ends in an, "E,†speaking of which, EEK! This is getting complicated :o) )

Meanwhile, Antilles goes to the head of the class, while the rest of yous guys has to go sit in the corner and get cyberized. ;)

Barbara was called Wright. Polly was Lopez.

Okay.

This was a useful interlude for me, since my Internet access was abruptly cutoff last night, for unknown reasons--I wasn't able to find out what the problem was--and reestablished just now. Talk about

withdrawal! :o I went to work last night in a bad mood, only to discover more annoying news, and then got home to find still no Internet.

So, who's got a, "Y?"

Ok, did some research.....

Polly's surname is never given on screen. BBC records seem to indicate that her surname is also Wright. Will continue to research in order to verify information.

Wikipedia (I know it's not the best source) seems to agree with what I've found elsewhere:

Polly was never given a last name in the series. According to production notes, she was meant to be Polly Wright, but this was not used in case it would be confused with previous companion Barbara Wright. In The Faceless Ones, a double of Polly is named Michelle Lauppi, an apparent mishearing of which led to unofficial reference works giving her last name as "Lopez". Anneke Wills suggested the name "Bettingham-Smith", after one of her friends. In the spin-off novel Invasion of the Cat-People by Gary Russell, Wright was given as Polly's last name. The canonicity of the spin-offs novels is unclear.

Wow, that fascinating, and at the same time disturbing. Since I was a kid the Whovians (in general I think) regarded her as Lopez, I think as a young kid-teenager most of my info came from Dr Who Weekly->Monthly->Magazine sooo....im blaming them hehe!

Well, I just google searched, "Polly Lopez, Doctor Who," and had no trouble finding it at all.

Examples:

From a cast list, here, . . .

http://www.museum.tv/archives/etv/D/htmlD/doctorwho/doctorwho.htm

Polly Lopez........................................... Anneke Wills

From here, . . .

http://www.relativedimensions.co.uk/companions.html

Polly Lopez

Polly Lopez was played by Anneke Wills between June 1966 and May 1967.

And, here, . . .

http://www.ee.surrey.ac.uk/Contrib/SciFi/DrWho/cast.html

Anneke Wills as Polly Lopez

And, there's a story behind it, here, . . .

http://everything2.com/index.pl?node=Polly

The myth is that her last name is Lopez, which is because an alien using her face gave the name Polly Lopez at an airline check-in desk - and a website I read claims that this was people mishearing a different name. Anneke Wills reportedly preferred "Brettingham-Smith" which does sound appropriate.

So, official, or not, I think it passes, especially given some of the other peculiar words and phrases we've already accepted in this crazy game.
