Guest c4evap
Ohh yah' date=' say doc.. howza bout the weed, I smokit, I lovit. fu- cigaretts... Fu- FU fu cancersticks.[/quote'] I hate to tell you, but smoking weed causes cancer. In fact, recent research has shown that you only have to smoke one joint a week to get the same cancer risk as smoking a pack a day of cigarettes. BULLPUKEY! That's just another load of crap dumped on us to further restrict the human need to change our consciousness and expand our minds. I'm still surprised anyone would buy into that load of BS! c4  ~ lighting a fatty up right now!!!

I'm still surprised anyone would buy into that load of BS! Funny you should say that, because that's exactly what people said when they were first told that cigarette smoking causes cancer. Besides, I've heard nothing that says that consuming it in ways other than smoking it causes cancer. It's most likely the combustion products of burning that cause the problem, not the active ingredients.

That's why it's very important to grow yer own :D No additives...just good 'ol yankie cow poop, sunlight and wawa. psheldrake1
Weed does have 10X the amount of tar than cigs do. The best way is to extract the THC is in alcohol & drink it. Or just eating without bakingcooking it.
StitchInTime
That's right. Growing your own doesn't solve the problem. If you burn it and inhale it, it causes lung damage. Again, it's not the active ingredients, but the tars, etc., that kill. Think about it: you are inhaling the byproducts of combustion into your lungs, something the sensitive lining of the alveoli are not designed to absorb. Another effective way of taking it is something I saw in a documentary on the subject. They were talking about using it as an antinausea agent for a child who was receiving nasty chemotherapy. What the parents did was stick some milk in a blender, add the 'key ingredient,' and let her rip. They dubbed it "Mother's milk," and it was very effective in relieving the child's symtpoms. He did eventually die, but his last days of life were a lot more pleasant than they would have been without it.

Or just eating without bakingcooking it. Naw...you guys are behind the times. I do it likewise: I perform a vulcan mind-meld on the weed. Of course my skin is rather green for a fews days and I keep rolling myself up in newspapers but what-the-hey?!? Seriously though...I've inhaled so much crap over the years (man made and otherwise) that I'm not too worried about it. Besides, I'm too old to change my life style at this point and don't want to. If the Gov't is sooooooo worried about the effects of weed on my lungs then they should engineer a safer alternative. Like I've said before...people are gonna smoke weed because it's enjoyable. It's in our nature to get high (IMHO). Now then...where did I put my rolling papers??? c4 :p

Prototype
I started smoking cigs when I was 13, to help cover up the scent of pot. I eventually quit smoking pot so I could join the Air Force last year, and recently I've been trying to cut down on my half a pack of nonfilters habit enough so I can quit. After all, they won't let me smoke in Basic Training. PS, DEP takes forever and a day. (Delayed Entry Program)

You don't think he was that laid back just because he was Vulcan do you? The phrase "Live long and prosper" actually began as a secret Vulcan greeting between dealers and was originally said as "Live long and prosper dude"... c4 ;)

seeth
Doctor, Sadly, I do smoke cigarettes. I know it is a bad, filthy habit! I appauld those who are smart enough to stay away from it! Don't start, it is an addiction that very hard (for me) to beat. I also am concious of my smoking, and do my best not to pollute others. This does not mean I always listen to the fanatics. It is legal, and I do have a right to smoke. You have the right not to be near me when I smoke. As for Smoking "other things" I am against anyone smoking anything that is not 100% organic! I do Smoke Weed, as most people do! Alot of these people cannot admit they smoke, because it can ruin their professional lives. I feel that it should be legal, but it is not. I do want to add that Children (under 18) should not smoke pot, or use other drugs (Alcohol). Wait until College! Your Bodies, and minds should be all developed by then! "Remember the Rock N Roll Doctor does not advocate drugs, I just precribe them". Seeth
seeth
Smokers have become second class citizens of late. Please' date=' try to remember that smokers are not the enemy...the tobacco corporations are! Many of us started early in life cause it [i']was[/i] considered cool. Heck, all the ads showed some famous person tokin' on one and we wanted to be like them. We were kids. We are now addicted. I am trying to quit. If you've never been addicted then you do not know how hard it is to quit. Just my two cents worth... I think this is true for me. I used to see the big Bullitin Signs of Adults Smoking Newports, while playing children's games. Building snowmen, and other fun stuff. The Tag line is "Alive with Pleasure" The Truth is I will be dying in pain (if I don't stop). The Tobacco companies in the USA during the 70's were given much more latitude in their advertising. Despite this marketing, I accept my part in starting to smoke, as well as never quitting. The addiction is worse than just tobacco, it was proven that many other things were added to the tobacco. This was to make it even more addictive. It is an addiction that is very scary to quit. I don't wish it on anyone. I do have to say that the USA would not be the same country if it were not for Tobacco as a chief export long ago. Some good came out of it! dino4
Its now been seven months since i last had a smoke. I feel wonderfull about giving up. I must admit i never really thought i could kick the habit. However the really strange thing about giving up is i can tell if someone else smokes from quite a distance away... Wow!! and to think i used to smell like an ashtray. It really does take very strong will power. As i said giving up is the best thing i ever did.
