frodoxxx
worth watching, as usual, but i thought that there were a tad too many storylines. It seemed that the writers were trying to overwhelm the audiance with action rather than developing the plot.
swinkf4af
i thought it was the perfect opening to the season, excelent episode, amazing show. :))) i watched it in a low 100MB quality and i would love to see it in 175MB [Niteshdw] ;-) BTW i think its 2x01 "Scattered" :D
Celestra
I thoroughly enjoyed it, well worth the wait B) And is it my imagination or is Gaeta looking more buff this season? Quite yummy I think ;) The only problem I have is that they have cut out the drums in the opening sequence. I know that had to cut something because there is no spoiler beforehand, but they could have extended the credits to accommodate the drums, they were awesome. nuages
I enjoyed the episode, at the end though which ship is it those cylon fighters are on??? is it that ship thats alll fancy and stuff where the election stuff was happening??? or was it that other ship from the beginning that looked like that?? is that ship still with the fleet?? and i miss the drums too
NiteShdw
The cylons were aboard the cylon ship that crashed into Battlestar Galactica just before it jumped to meet the fleet. I have to admit that I get a little... annoyed with the large number of flashbacks that don't seem to make much sense. At first I really didn't like the doctor that's constantly halucinating, but now I'm starting to think that he adds a lot to the storyline and really mixes things up. I found the episode quite gripping. One of the things that I really like about BSG over some other sci-fi shows is that they are running a sort of 'soap opera' style show in the sense that each episode is based on the last. There is continuity and an on going storyline that keeps you wonderinf what's going to happen next. I think that's also why Season 3 of Enterprise was popular. Some of the actors need to do a little better, specifically Starbuck (actress sucks IMO) but even Sharron had a few bad moments, as did the chief. Other than that, most of the acting was pretty good. Now that Enterprise is off the air, I'm happy to see such a good show pick up that slack!
SuperK
The flash-back scenes are driving me nuts. Baltar's "visions" with 6 are bad enough, but this thing with Tigh got on my nerves. I also have trouble with the combat systems. A Flak barrier? This is bassically WW2 stye combat in space. With a race far more advanced than we are, yet they have a combat system that we gave up on some 50 years ago. Doesn't track. Heck, the Flak barrier was on one side.. why don't they just fly around it? Actually, the whole bloody story lines don't track. It's pretty good if you don't start asking "why" things are happening. If you do, they don't really add up. But it's good until that point. It's going to be interesting to see the Pegasus latter. I wonder if it will be a "modern" design or just a rehash of the Galactica? BK
Ulysses
To me the flash backs with Col Tigh do make total sence, what its doing is showing the relationship between tigh and adama in the past. We knew that they where pals in season 1 and what it is doing is building there characters and showing abit about there history as freinds. Im suprised that apollo didnt report the strange looking cylon craft as soon as he boarded and got it checked out, saying that next weeks looks rather intresting. Personally I loved this episode, just like nite said its like a soap type story which actually works quite well. This is what i was saying during season 1 about it being a more intresting than when enterprise season 4 was beening shown, I actually did like season 3 because it was more like a soap. Looks like ronald D Moorse has come up trumphs again and produced a really great show and falls into the same catagorie as RTD. RTD's and Moorse the two gods in sci fi at the moment!! :p

xboxmaster
The flashbacks make perfectly sense to me. Just a bit background information on the relationship between Adama and Tigh. I realy loved this episode, a good begin of the season. The cylons have a new way for dropping of their raiders, they are now attached to the hull of the basestar. NiteShdw
As far as the flashbacks, I don't mind them giving background information, in fact I like it. But we saw the SAME uninformative flashback over and over again, and it wasn't until the end that we saw the whole thing that made sense. I was really intrigued to see the Cylons boarding the ship! Ulysses
yeah looks like apollo gets out of jail to fight em off, and col tigh is still pissed at him pointing the gun to his head. Col. Tigh does seem a more realistic XO or should i say number 1 than riker did. Also he seems quite a moody git (typical officers hehe).
Celestra
I just watched it for the second time and think it's a great start to the season. I think the flashbacks add a lot of depth the characters, it's not something you get with all shows, but it really does give you an insight as to how the characters ended up how they are now and how it is still affecting them. (The flashbacks on Lost are another good example.) I see they've plucked Capt. Kelly from obscurity to fill in as 1st officer. I wonder if he'll disappear again when Adama is back on his feet? Centurion
Good episode! I've watched it twice as well. Not a bad start for a promising season 2... :)
carcynsdad
great episode, the flashbacks didnt bother me at all. i think it showed how close tigh is and has been to the edge. cant wait for ep 2 to finnish dling.
Weyoun
Some of the actors need to do a little better, specifically Starbuck (actress sucks IMO) but even Sharron had a few bad moments, as did the chief. Other than that, most of the acting was pretty good. I used to think that too, but once you have a very vivid dream in which you are dating Starbuck(at least she had her face/voice, it actually took me a moment to place the face with a name when I woke up), your opinion of her tends to change. ;)
naz99
Ppl are commenting about too many storylines?. If you listen to the podcasts on the sci-fi site(goddamn i thought id never go that far but its done now :P )then you will realise that it aint a case of too many stories at once its that instead of ending them half assed they decided to carry them on from ep 2x01 and end them at different parts of the series so it didnt seem like they was rushing things. And to be honest i totally agree with it...id rather have 5 storylines running and switching between each at once over a few eps rather than (like i keep stating in other posts) taking the me too route and chopping it off at an abrupt end to carry on another meaningless story in the series....Dont think sci-fi man think drama! then you will get where this show is going! EDIT: I have to disagree with niteshdw on the comment about starbuck....If u take time to really pay attention to her character as annoying as she is which i cant doubt i think she is perfect for the show(it took me a while to get used to her after the original starbuck but this one is far more complex and troubled which makes for a more intresting story).I dont want to speak for ya but do you think its because she might be a female?(after getting used to the cheesy quality that was dirk benedict...that i just cant hate :P ) which is the reason she is hard to accept as i have noticed with other BSG fans??.However if you wasnt a fan of the first one then ignore this comment as it will be total Bull*hit to you ;)
