theaveng
I need a place to store 100 megabyte files. I'm currently using Yahoomail and RAR to divide the files into 10 megs each, but that's impractical. Where can I find a good storage site (preferably free)? troy
TFMF
MSN Hotmail gives you 250mb of storage - you could set up a few accounts and store them there. Or you could get 2gb of storage at Wanadoo.co.uk - That's free

Vektram
Got it. Bummer. Gmail has the same 10 meg limitation as yahoomail troy Probably because they don't want people uploading pirated stuff onto thier e-mail accounts. I was like "Woo 1 gig! When g-mail frst became available." then I realized...
theaveng
Yeah... guess I'll stick to audio. 4 messages ain't too bad, but 80 for a movie is a bit insane. Anyone know how to split the movie audio, and convert the MPEG-to-MP3? troy
theaveng
I figured out how to rip audio, and squeeze it down to only 30 megs. 3 emails is better than 80. troy
quosego
May i ask why you would want to do such an thing, it all sounds very annoying. Isn't an ftp or any other server way easier. I mean if my servers weren't down so often i would give you an gig (i'm not very reliable if it comes to hosting stuff :) )
S0V13T
If your trying to distribute files, why not just make torrents, upload them to a newsgroup server, or share them on the DC network? HTTP and FTP transfers arn;t exactelly the most effective / popular way to get stuff out there any more.
Annika
Do you want temporary storage or permanent storage? For sending large files to someone else you could use http://www.yousendit.com - but I thought it would take just as long to download something?? Or did I misunderstand? theaveng
Yeah.... I was just about to come here and say: - Found a solution! http://www.yousendit.com lets me send 1 gigabyte files The problem with yahoo or any other mail service, is that you need ~100 messages to send one movie. VERY time-consuming. troy
