That was one of the reasons I really hoped the series would turn around at that point, darker, more manipulative and definitely not a 'clean' 'cricket' image like Peter Davidson was.

But it didn't save the series :(

Curse of Fenric is probably my favourite alongside Ghostlight, which again shows how manipulative the Doctor can be.

I think it was a cse of too little to late, by then. Although a brilliant last season, McCoys cartoon/pantomine era had samaged the show beyond repair. it was getting back on track, but too many viewers had been alienated. I stopped watching after seeing Bertie Basset as a bad guy.

To be honest I was waiting for the Doctor to regenerate before watching it again. It was only sevral years later that i watched Curse OF Fenric and only when THE DVD came out did I see Ghostlight (and kicked myself dor not watching it before)

I've just heard some interesting news, read spoiler, and while unpacking at my new abode I made a startling discovery.

1st, the news....K-9 is going to die!!!!!! Good thing too, there are far too many versions of him running around the universe.

Now for the discovery. I put a set of rabbit ears on my television (now that it isn't below ground I thought I might at least see if I could get local stations) and set the TV to program itself. When I cycled through the channels to see what it had come up with I found two very fuzzy canadian stations, 3 guesses what one of them is. So now all I need to do is boost the signal (possibly by using the abandoned antenna on top of the building) and I'll actually get to see the next season. Who'd have thought moving a few miles WNW would improve my Who fortunes?

Ah, apparently he 'dies' saving the world, but is then rebuilt by the Doctor. Hmmm does anyone think OMG K-9 2000s makeover?

Jack will be returning in Sereis 3, He was going to be in a season two from episode 7 on wards, but he has commited him self to too much work this year so he's return has been pushed back a season.

K-9 being destroyed. Well there were only three. This one is obviousl k-9 mark III, as it is with Sarah Jane and was introduced in the pilot for the spin off K-9 and Company. It flopped. He was seen for the second time in the 5 Doctors. And this will be his official, third on screen appearance. As for K-9 marks I and II, both were on Gallifrey. I with Leela, who remained behind and II with Romana who did eventually leave E-Space and ended up becoming the President of Gallifrey. Now depending on weather the new sereies follows the novels or the Big Finish plays (see my post in the 2005 forum) either both K-9 Mark I and II will have been destroyed, or just Mark I. Read the Gallifrey Chronicles to find out what happened to K-9 mark II in the 8th doctor novel series.

I don't see the master returning. He got swallowed by the eye of Harmony on board the TARDIS (See the Telemovie). In the Gallifrey Chronicles, he makes an apperance but is talking through the eye of harmony to the Doctor. But the new series might find a way to bring him back, or Big Finish could bring him back and the new series could carry it on from there.

I think Rommana is dead regardless. As the President of Gallifrey, she would have been at home running the war. She died whith Gallifrey in the novels, and if the series follows the cd.s, then she probably dies in the dalek time war.

Hve you seen the latest news on Outpost Gallifrey? Not content with lampooning Big Brother last year, the Dr Who is going to top themselves (please feel free interpret that saying), by lampooning Trisha. For American fans (and other countries) Trisha is the Britsh answer to Oprah, Donahue, Geraldo etc.

Yay... not. Hopefully it will be better then bad wolf. BBC should hire some of the big finish writers. Some of the Docor who audios are better then some of the classic episodes. Plus look at McGann's series. Especially when they had the season releases with the big arcs. Imagine what the writers could do with Tennants Doctor.

As I sat perusing the upcoming season I was forcibly grabbed by the neck and trottled by the premise of School Reunion. The (Tenth) Doctor, while investigating strange goings on at a school, meets up with old companion Sarah Jane and her K-9 unit (which he presumably repairs) and madness ensues. Now the reason for my reaction. Back in the Early 90's (before the MA's) I submitted a novel to Virgin's NA line which would have had two Doctors in it. It was rejected for relying to heavily on the series past. So here's the point, One of the plot threads had the (Sixth) Doctor, while investigating strange goings on at a University, meets up with old companion Sarah Jane and her K-9 unit (which he repairs) and madness ensues.

It boggles the mind....and Scrabbles it, as well. Can't wait to see what they did with my story. If the mysterious Headmaster (Anthony Head) turns out to be the Master then it will have matched my plot nearly to the letter.
