Dr Who Music

I was wondering if anyone could recommend where to get Doctor who incidental music (not the main theme Fenriswolf recommended an excellent site for that -whomix- on another thread).

I'm particularly looking for the music from 'survival' and 'Rose'

Any suggestions?

A guy called Drew, from northern england who releases electronic music under the name mount vernon arts lab, released the complete soundtracks to tomb of the cybermen and tenth planet on his own label a while back. they are amazingly nice editions, but were released in a limited run, so you might be able to get em on ebay. I might be persuaded to do a rip if anyone is interested.

I think either warp or rephlex ( i forget which) just released a nice retrospective of radiophonic workshop stuff, that has lots of who music on it, so thats well worth a check, you can probably find that again on ebay or amazon.

Ive got a ton of this type of material, so if anyone wants to hear me waffle on about it let me know :) :) :)

My wife thinks I'm twisted because I bought a couple of CDs with incidental music on them. They were released by Silva America, I believe. They were released as the Best of Doctor Who Vol 1 & 2 with Vol 1 being subtitled The Five Doctors and Vol 2 subtitled The Greatest Show in the Galaxy. Vol 1 was mostly Davison, Pertwee and Tom Baker era stuff while Vol 2 was Mostly McCoy era stuff.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO WAFFLE and I don't know about anyone else but I think it would be great if you loaded them. please. pretty please. pretty please with a cherry on top.

I am really hoping that the BBC release some Dr. Who 2005 OST soundtracks as I would love to get my paws on those. The only other way would be to somehow take them directly off the episodes -- like the fellow did who ripped the Tv Movie OST off the DVD.

how do you do that then?

U can rip soundtracks from films using GKNOT from doom9.org ............ all the software is free as well. I sing the gospel of doom!!!

OK ms pella, I will try and get a radiophonic torrent 2gether, if it isnt up within 7 days, shout very loudly at me and i'll get on it (ive just started a new and very well payed job :) :) :) :) and so time is short, but i will post this, just remind me if i forget).

Ive got the soundtracks from some of the tommorow people as well from library music LPs. They are really weird and psyche!! If I get round to doing a vinyl rip I will post.

Shouldnt worry too much about the Mcoy soundtrax.... its all about the clunky and wheezing analogue electronics in my opinion :snigger: :)

I only managed that because the dvd has a 'soundtrack' only audio channel (apart from 2 tracks).

I don't think the new series dvd's do, please correct me if im wrong.

If they dont, then you'd get the whole audio which would spoil it.

I second that. I bought the Cd sounsdtrack several years ago when tenth planet done a limited run, but your version had sevral pieces of music that were missing from that CD, such as my favourite 'A new day dawns'.

Thank you very much

It's mainly the tune played as Sylv does his 'cities of made of song' it's a very poignant version of theme especially as you know that that is the very last scene of the BBC Tv series of that era of Doctor who.

As my friend Fenriswolf has already pointed out, YOU ROCK.

I stand in awe in your presence

Two things

1) can you up the offical cd? I'd like to hear it in comparison

2) you should know that I made up all of the track names :p

No Probs, give me couple of days. As for the track titles - hey they sound great - very apt.
