queenhank
In First Contact, Picard has a number of ship models, presumably all of starships named Enterprise. Now, I preface this with the statement that First Contact was made well before Enterprise was ever even conceived, so as to allay any confusion on that matter. As for the question I have: one of the ship models he has looks rather like the NX-01 Enterprise. Possible an Akira class ship. It occurred to me that they may have stuck that ship in there just for kicks, and later, when designing the NX-01, they might have decided to use that model as their basis. Or am I just seeing things? Is that ship the NX-01?
gjnave
You should ask this question on www.startrek.com message board.... I bet you will have an answer within 15 minutes. Those guys know it all when it comes to Trek... kinda scary really :D LOL
Guest c4evap
I searched on the net but couldn't find any reference to your question. I suppose I'll have to watch the movie for the answer. I did, however, stumble onto a cool website regarding continuity. Continuity Watch c4 B)
GhostShadow
Ask it in the Star trek fourm, i know alot about the politics of star trek but the ship numbers and design confuse the hell out of me.

Marcroft
If you look at First Contact time index 4.56 you can only see 6 models :- Enterprise NCC-1701 Enterprise NCC-1701-A Enterprise NCC-1701-B Enterprise NCC-1701-C Enterprise NCC-1701-D Enterprise NCC-1701-E I am not certain as to what other model you are referring too? queenhank
That answers my question nicely, thank you. I never was sure if it actually was what I thought it was, or simply a trick of the light and the poor resolution on my VHS.
Wazer
I don't think they ever refered to the NX-01 in any episode in earlier series ie. In the Trouble with Tribbles they refered to Kirk's Ship as the "First" Enterprise and I think the temporal investigators said which one there have been 6. I suppose this could be explained by the fact that the NX-01 was never a Federation Starship just Starfleet and had an experimatal designation. The NX-01 was kinda refered to in an EP of Voyager (Hope and Fear - 4x24). There was a ship in that EP called the "NX-01A" (The Dauntless). Here's a link to info on the ship. They make no mention of the ships reg number so you'll have to watch the EP if ya don't believe me. c4 B)
