They should've made a whole series of Mirror universe episodes..

....the Terran stuff was great.

:)

Oh. I soooooooo agree with that. I suggested that before on another board and was poo-pooed. "It's not Star Trek if it's a mirror-universe series they said. Star Trek is good...not evil". 'Oh bl*w me I said"! I think that would have been a better choice for the ENT series (IMHO).

c4 :D

I don't know about a whole series of mirror universe but it would have been good if a whole series had a similar adversary. The Xindi in series 3 were good but most of the time the enterprise were just looking for them. A whole series where an enemy ship attacks the main crew and they fend them off whilst trying to go about their business would be good. Kinda like a bully at school that keeps annoying you, and hurting you, until you finally get rid of them. :D

Yeah Enterprise's cancelation sucks. They had finally fixed the flaws and were producing good stories in season 4, but then pulled the plug. DUMB. Same thing happened with Doctor Who. They killed the show when it was good.

A lot of good comes from taking a close glance at evil... of course, they could do a series about the good elements trying to keep it together in a harsh, evil universe... they can then cover the mirror universe, AND stick to the good side! :D

Edit: ... they may even be able to snag back some baddies as GOOD characters...

For once I agreed with the Emmy for the best dramatic episode - although I thought a number of Enterprise arcs should have been considered, that particular House episode was amazing.

I know it's not SF, but if enough people are interested, I'll post both the Emmy winning episode & the premeire episode of House. If you've never watched the show (which generally isn't that great - and for the first dozen episodes basically didn't do anything interesting) the Emmy winning episode doesn't hit as hard as it does if you're familiar with the premise.

The non-linear storytelling, the ability to switch realities and confront you with truths that explain character motivation were phenomenal. Why can't more SF shows do the same?

If Enterprise had stayed on the air:

- We would have seen more background history of various aliens (like the Vulcan trilogy)

- More connections to the original series

- And the show-runner Manny Coto was planning to do another trilogy in the Dark Universe!

BTW if you liked those episodes, here are some more you should check out:

- The Original Trek - Kirk crosses over

- Deep Space Nine - there was one dark universe episode for every season (3 to 7)

- BOOKS: There's a TNG novel where Picard crosses-over... probably the best story to date!

This is not entirely right:

- In "mirror mirror" (TOS 2x4) (I assume you are referring to this one) Kirk, McCoy, Uhura and Scotty do cross over

- In season two of DS9 is also a mirror episode, namely "crossover" (2x23), on the other hand there is no such episode in season five

The DS9 alternate universe episodes were poor at best, and always felt too much like a fall back for writers with no new story lines. The alternate (evil) Enterprise episodes, on the other hand, were very good. Who can't fail to like seeing the crew in TOS uniforms?
