After long deliberation, I decided to go for the Prometheus. It was either that one or the Bioship. Pormetheus has nicer looks though... :)

EDIT: Strange that the defiant is winning again. I never really liked that ship. Sure, it is powerfull, but it just isn't as elegant as some of the other Federation designs. Personally I find the Intripid class way prettier... :)

Of course the Galaxy class wasn't built for combat - more than a few occasions it was out gunned by lesser class of ships. Not worthy of the title of Flagship in my opinion - the Sovereign class was much better of course. Really packed a punch there

mabe, but the Enterprise E looks like a War Ship. That is just not the look the federation should impose w/ their flagship. And Just beacuse its is the strongest ship in the fleet means that it is the flagship. Some would argue the Defient is the strongest in the fleet, i dont see it as a flag ship though.

The Defiant was a Warship - but apart from that - it's not much more. The Sovereign - is Powerful - probably the strongest ship in the fleet, fast and manuverable (unlike the Galaxy) - i mean how would the Galaxy class have fared up against the Scimetar - in fact how would any other ship fare against the Scimatar.

The reason the Galaxy wasn't a good flagship is because although it's beautiful - it's not very practical - it's more a cruise ship than anything else - i mean it's main goal is exploration and yet i'm sure there are many more ships better for that - that don't have families on board (not the best when your exploring the unknown)

The Sovereign is actually not maneuverable at all, I don't know whether it is more maneuverable than a Galaxy class, but in comparison to other comparable Starships, the Sovereign is not very maneuverable...

Further it mentioned often throughout TNG that the crews of the Galaxy class starships are 'spoiled' and that Starfleet itself somewhat feels that the Galaxy is a bit of a cruiseship...

The Sovereign is very definately more powerfull than the Galaxy, but the Galaxy is a lot more beautiful than the Sovereign in my opinion...

As for the Scimitar, wasn't their some problem with that ship and its powersource? A healthissue? Or was that something that my (sometimes to powerfull) imagination spawned?

If you look at the Sovereign in action and compare it's manoverability to other ships - you'l see it is quite manuverable.

I'm not sure what you mean about the Scimetar...

In the 9th movie, Riker actually says:

This ship wasn't build for good maneuvering, but for it to take a pounding and live... (or something like that at least). He's talking about the Enterprise-E then btw. :)

As for the Scimitar: wasn't there something about the thalaron radiation and leakage or something? But as I said, it could have been my imagination, I'm really not sure about it. Actually the more I think about it, the more uncertain I become...

NO when it cloked it put out an unusualy high amount of Thalron radiation that Geordi found.

that must be why the remens are so ugly. lol

but the radiation could not be detected while it was cloaked - no real weakness
