oooo I love most things from studio ghibli.

spirited away

princess mononoke

nausicca of the valley of the wind

grave of the fireflies

kiki's delivery service

lupin III - castle of cagliostro

There is a new one out called "Howl's moving castle" but I havent had the chance to see it. No doubt it will be good.

Personally I dont like anime that has been dubbed. I definately prefer to watch it in japanese with subtitles. :cyclops:

The Japanese fansubs of Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT are my favorite Anime shows. I also liked the English DUB DBZ episodes. I find all Japanese anime interesting, as it seems to be an outlet for those who experienced the ravages of WWII, espically in dealing with the psychological aftermath of the atomic bombs. This backdrop and hallmark can be seen in shows which fit the genre. In fact, BBC has a documentary called Japanorama where many Anime creators are interviewd and one can quickly see during the interviews how Anime became a realese from what, in many creators minds, must have been a world gone mad. In the Dragonball features, if one looks at the series in this light, one can see how individuals become stronger than armies, yet shepards of the earth. Very intersting concepts in many of the Anime series' out of Japan, but Dragonball Z and GT remain my favorite.

One of my favorite things to do is watch a new anime with a bunch of other people, like at a convention, or in an Anime Club, or just sitting around with friends. I've had lots of favorites over the years (usually whatever one I'm watching at the time), so I can't really name a particular one I like. That said, I'm mostly into Shoujo (young girls') anime.
