nuages
for me you can't beat Hikaru No Go, I mean it was an anime about the game "GO" and it was DAMN good, like you could enjoy it without even knowing how to play Go, and it was so intense, even though it was about Go, SO GOOD!!! jcap511
The Rurouni Kenshin OAVs (aka Samurai X), very intense and emotional, all time favorite. The series is pretty good too, not as good as the OAVs though. I also like: Cowboy Bebop Naruto Fullmetal Alchemist Bleach Samurai Champloo Gungrave

martog
The Japanese fansubs of Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT are my favorite Anime shows. I also liked the English DUB DBZ episodes. I find all Japanese anime interesting, as it seems to be an outlet for those who experienced the ravages of WWII, espically in dealing with the psychological aftermath of the atomic bombs. This backdrop and hallmark can be seen in shows which fit the genre. In fact, BBC has a documentary called Japanorama where many Anime creators are interviewd and one can quickly see during the interviews how Anime became a realese from what, in many creators minds, must have been a world gone mad. In the Dragonball features, if one looks at the series in this light, one can see how individuals become stronger than armies, yet shepards of the earth. Very intersting concepts in many of the Anime series' out of Japan, but Dragonball Z and GT remain my favorite.
queenhank
One of my favorite things to do is watch a new anime with a bunch of other people, like at a convention, or in an Anime Club, or just sitting around with friends. I've had lots of favorites over the years (usually whatever one I'm watching at the time), so I can't really name a particular one I like. That said, I'm mostly into Shoujo (young girls') anime. Annika
I love Dragonball, used to watch it with my kids when it was on TV here. But it's the only anime I know so I can't say anything about the rest. Unless Pokemon counts...
