Steveo
This is another example of that wierd phenomena known as mid-season finale. It makes no sense to me.
Elessar
This was NOT a season finale - so stop gripping about it. There are suppose to be 20 episodes total. No one has really said this yet, but during the whole episode I had the feeling that Cain is a cylon, or if not a cylon, completely insane. The cylon theory is probably wrong considering their treatment of Six... but I really don't like Ensign Ro... haha I did completely understand Adama's reaction to the Admiral. There's no way he's going to stand up to superior officer like that. We also got to see his respect for democracy and civilian authority. I also believe the Adama has been used to having all the power/being in charge, which is where the conflict between the Cmdr and the Admiral all begins. I think that the crew on the Pegasus will side with Adama. They will tell the Admiral she's out of line and won't risk attacking the Galactica. Once the war is over between the two, the first order of business will be to find out what that Cylon ship is. By the end of the story arc, I suspect that the Galactica will jump with the fleet and leave the Pegasus behind. Overall, there was some cheesy acting, and some very predictable plot 'twists'. The great thing about the writing is that the story answers enough questions to keep you satisfied, but creates a whole new set of questions in the process to keep you coming back for more. How is it not the season finale? Nobody's griping but I'm confused here, everything I've read says 'Season Finale' and Sci Fi Ch's website says next week's episode is Scattered....That's an old episode  Unless you're just talkin about how pretty soon Season 3 is gonna start in the UK...? Does anyone know if that means we'll get SkyOne HD rips? EDIT: Ok now I've found spoilers about "2x11 - Resurrection Ship".....I am SO confused :stare: :stare:, can someone explain what's going on? And what the hell is "The Gun on Ice Planet Zero" ? :stare:
doctorsmith
How is it not the season finale? Nobody's griping but I'm confused here' date=' everything I've read says 'Season Finale' and Sci Fi Ch's website says next week's episode is [b']Scattered[/b]....That's an old episode  It is, yet it isn't. While the episodes we have seen and the episodes that will be aired next year will ultimately be packaged as "Season 2" on DVDs, many networks use these engineered finales in their programming. This allows the channel to stretch out their product. Although you think it would be easy to get people in front of the TV during the winter, this allows them to build up anticipation for months (via their "coming in January" commercials with all the lovely teaser footage that sends us to our forums and endless rounds of speculation). It stretchs out the story and helps rebuild viewer frenzy for the second half of the season - there are merits to this business strategy. Technically you could call this a "half-season finale" but the network "mind-control specialists" pointed out that "season finale" has a more poignant psychological effect on the viewer, and "season finales" traditionally draw in larger crowds. Heh, sorry. Just had to play the conspiracy angle on why they'd confuse people like this. Anyway it's also why these shows start airing in July while episodes of, say, Lost start with a more traditional airing schedule; in the fall rather than the summer. Yet there are, as already pointed out, distribution licenses (as with the UK) which do not account for this. The U.S. airs the first half first, but overseas they get the entire package first. Thus, as you can expect, the Torrents have a fieldday with this arrangement.

jcap511
Soo........does this mean I will be able to see the rest of the season continue on SkyOne rips......And when?? Apparently SkyOne is just airing the Season 1 finale (Kobol's Last Gleaming). So depending when and how often they air eps, we could see new SkyOne rips in late november or december. (educated guess, don't get mad at me if not true :p)
mcant
This entire mid season break business is causing me to think, from a British perspective. its time for a replay of 1776! just to stop the stupid networks doing this!! I want the next episode NOW
pkrisnin
Want to watch ep 11 then continue subscribing to cabel until next year. Its a plot by networks now. Have viewers pay for entire year just to watch 2 half diffrent seasons for a year. Network makes more money and they produce less series. and they wonder why P2P is community is getting larger. I'm guessing Nov 05- feb -06 on P2P for ep
Elessar
Well, that's kind of stupid I mean, I don't know a single person who would actually cancel a channel for the half of the year that their show isn't actually playing.........that would seriously be major cheapness. Besides, I wouldn't be able to even if I wanted to, like most people I think. It's part of my satellite cable package...What am I going to do, cancel my satellite for half the year until it comes back on? If this is really their motivation, to make me pay for their channel half the year I'm not going to be watching it, it's pointless, because I'm too lazy and it's not feasible and completely stupid to actually NOT pay for it even if it did play out for a solid half of the year like a regular show. Tenebrae
Unspeakably stupid the whole "Oh, we've had 10 episode - time to go on hiatus for 3 months!" Ah well... But I can't see why people didn't love this episode. I thought it was probably one of the best yet. If anyone has seen the original BSG - and I know many have - then this Cain fits in pretty well with that. A crazy but brilliant strategist that is basically totally obsessed with destroying the Cylons - ultimately at the cost of his own life. Hence this episode makes sense to me. mushukumono
I still don't understand why they would take a 3 month break? Isn't this how shows loose viewers, when networks fickle with airing dates and time slots?
S0V13T
If Sci-Fi was smart, they wouldn't have stopped all three of their flagship shows (SG-1, Atlantis, and BSG) all at once. I think that it would ultimatelly be better for them, and their advertisers if they were to keep one, if not 2 shows on the air, untill the third show came back on in new episodes. Like, they could re-start BSG in January as planned, and alternate SG-1 and Atlantis for who gets the new episode that week. One friday, show a rerun of SG-1, followed by a new Atlantis, restart BSG from part one the mini-series after that. Then, the following Friday, show a new SG-1, followed by a repeat of Atlantis, followed by part 2 of the BSG mini series, ad infinitum. That way, us sci-fi addicts are still getting our weekly dose of 'the good stuff', and arn't all strung out fiending for any sci-fi we can get. Steveo
I think the whole point of the mid season finale is, aside the cross pond TV scheduling necessary to keep us at over here in the heart of civilisation, The British Empire, happy, the mid season finale also keeps you watching, and will generate much higher ratings for the next episode. Ulysses
what a bummer..... actually if you think about it i was wondering about this. When season 2 started it did state that the second half of the series would be screened on sky first. You also have to remember is its co-funded by sci-fi channel and sky as well so they had to kinda make some sort of arrangement, personally i dont know why the hell they couldnt actually release it at the same time as each other, i.e sci-fi and sky one at the same time....seems to be the fair way of doing it. maybe they aint actually finished making the second half of the season so who knows....
