Great ideology

Hi, as many of you, I watch all episodes of all series, watch all the ST movies and play all the games (on PC)... I like the Ideology behide Star Trek.

Back in the 60's, it was a difficult time for the US, a revolution idea brougth by Star Trek hit the public opinion... However even if the beggiging of this saga was cut short... Couple of years later, the show was re-born.

In the 60's having a Russian controling the weapon, a Japanese at the helm, a Scotish as chief engeere, a Canadian as capitain and a Black woman at communication. Woooow! Now this is great! Star Trek grasp the ideology of being HUMAN, not only Americain, French, African... but part of a grather whole.

For sure this is an utopic vision of the future, but who knows. I always said that the only way to teach Humans to stop hitting each other, will be to encouter a more socialy evolved culture from outter space.

I was please to see how different all the captains were in all the series. James T. Kirk: passionate and impulsive. Jean-Luc Picard: live on his principle, cold but just. Ben Sisco: the only one with a child, more close to the others, driven by his feelings. Katherine Janeway: Logical and practical brain, she rely on science to drive her decisions. Jonathan Archer: Inexperienced, he got a bit of Picard and Sisco persona, tries to live by the others expectations.

ST was running for so many years and as all the fans out there, even if the series was not popular as before, I was very disapointed by the decision to stop Enteprise Production.

Thats my though and first post... any comments...

Thanks

Sorry to correct you...but...Kirk had a son (David) as well. He appeared in the Star Trek movies "The Wrath Of Khan" and "The Search For Spock". His son was killed by a Klingon on the planet created by the "Genesis Device".

I would say Picard was the most principled, the most ideological in a time where practicality and common sense was more important. Picard always saw ahead of the game and never made impulsive decisions. Everything he said (after season 1) was good and non-impulsive.
