theaveng
It's said that chocolate is an aphrodisiac... it makes you "feel good" and "safe". What other foods or chemicals have a similar effect? troy

StitchInTime
Oysters reputedly have the effect. I've also heard that researchers have achieved the same effect, at least in men, with the aroma of freshly baked bread. Apparently the way to the heart really is through the stomach. I also heard aroma was a big one. For me its wine. My dog gets a worried look in his eye and hides under the couch whenever I crack open a bottle  . The other aromas I've heard are vanilla and licoriche (for men or women I can't remember. There were a couple others I couldn't remember either but they were pretty odd and not what you would think of as an aphrodisiac. They were looking into making colonne and perfume out of these scents.
quosego
Freshly made Haggis...... LOL But seriously, I guess beer would have the same effect...

theaveng
Ginko Biloba is supposed to make you smarter..... don't see the relation to sex? Someone needs to invent a testosterone pill. Just slip it into your girl/boyfriend's drink, wait one hour, and suddenly their tearing your clothes off. troy
StitchInTime
Ginko Biloba is supposed to make you smarter..... don't see the relation to sex? I went to a seminar a few years ago, where a doctor said that he prescribes it to men who have to take medications that are, for the lack of a better word, deflating; and, he said that it seems to counteract that effect. Strictly speaking, it doesn't really make you smarter, but it does increase the blood flow to the brain, which probably accounts for its cognitively stimulating effects. It's a potent herb, though, that shouldn't really be taken without medical supervision. For example, one of the side effects in some people is damage to the blood vessels in the eyes. Like aspirin, it's also an anticoagulent; therefore, it should not be taken in combination with aspirin or any other drugs that have anticoagulent effects.
