I think Jane way takes the medal b/c she is soo friggin iratinal' date=' she made an alliance w/ the borg.... omg..... i am just gonna stop there...[/quote']

Still can't figure out just what the heck you mean by "iratinal". Tried a dictionary but couldn't find that word anywhere in it.

I believe he means irrational.

Janeways my most h8d ever, commodore, because in my personal opinion mulgrew was a terrible choice to play her for starters, annoying shrieking voice and so wooden in her acting, i also despised the bullsh** political correctness of Voyager as a whole, i stated in another thread that i wasn't happy at the focus on a female captain or the inclusion of a "coloured" vulcan, the dude playing Tuvok was excellent i must admit, and i liked the character, but to have "coloured" Vulcans when none have ever been seen before is ludicrous, i think Tuvok is the ONLY one in existance so where did he come from? :P and to do that without having "white" Klingons is just racist, lol.

Seriously though i just didn't like the whole outlook of the show, and the character of Janeway, although my knowledge on her is limited by the fact i couldn't bring myself to watch every episode and after a season or 3 i only started watching it randomly when i noticed it on, which for me to do that with a star trek program is very unusual indeed, with every other series i've been hooked.

I'm surprised you did not like Mulgrew's acting. I found her to be the perfect Janeway. Mulgrew was a very competent actress. Perhaps Janeway's many flaws can be attributed to her and not the actress?

i'm open to the possibilty Mulgrew got better and more into the part as the final 4 seasons progressed, but i still can't stand her , only one character comes close to making me want to gouge out my eyes evrytime i see them, as much as Janeway, and thats Tuvix, so she still gets my vote :)

The one wise thing Janeway ever did was to join the alliance with the Borg.

The Borg are not evil nor good, there is no such thing, only survival and perfection, and they're good at it. So there is no point in calling that an "alliance with the devil" as she did herself in that particular episode.

And in a choice between Borg or 8472 as the race to dominate the universe I'd go for Borg any day.

Janeway's major flaw is her political correctness and stupid morals and when she finally abandons them and grabs the opportunity nobody can call that "iratinal".

I also disliked Nog and Rom immensely, they were two of the worst Trek characters ever. I disliked everything about them. Nog had this overacheiver attitude, and he was so short, way too much attitude for a guy that tiny. I mean what was he, a dwarf, the kid would never grow.

N.

What about Joe Pesci in Casino or Goodfellas - he has a huge attitude and is an overacheiver - yet is vertically challenged

- and before people say but Joe Pesci Rocks (or something similar) may I remind you

1. Home Alone

2. The Lethal Weapon 3+4

Kate Mulgrew aside- the show could have been a lot worse - have you seen the original footage with Geneviève Bujold as Captain Janeway - imagine where the show would have gone if she had stayed.

As a side note - Chakotay really annoys me - not so much the character - but more the actor, Robert Beltran.

If you haven't noticed, in every show that he has worked in, just before he speaks, he takes in the biggest, loudest breath ever. I find it so annoying.

so true - have seen it and I was horrofied. now that is "wooden" playing. anything else is better. so mulgrew it is.

hm, annoying characters.. my big 4 - wesley, deanna, bashir, kai winn.

edit: oh and that kid on voyager - naomi? uhhh, that kid should really be more in the background in the storyline of voy..

Well. I agree that Lwaxana Troy was incredibly irritating. But I kinda enjoyed Picard's responses towards her, that was pretty funny. And besides. There was this one episode with this 60yr old scientist that went to his home planet to die, ... you remember. I think that Troy's character suited that episode well.

And about Wesley Crusher.... well I was REALLY looking forward to seeing him sent to the starfleet academy in the 1st season and lo! he didn't pass. Annoying brat.

I hate Wesley Crusher.

He's an irritating, know-it-all, brown nosing, mama's boy.

I'm trying to be nice btw. ;)

Wesley

wesley' date=' by far [/quote']

after watching more TNG - i'm beginning to agree with you all...

Harry Kim was a pointless character to have on the show - he practically did nothing - not only that but his failure to get promoted even surpasses Wesley Crushers ineptitude.

I mean even Wesley earned a commission rank of Ensign in Season 3 of TNG, yet Kim stays an Ensign for Seven years???

I mean why would the ensign even be a senior bridge officer?
