mcant
Ok this is not a discussion thread. no posts no arguements/justifications or flames just a straightforward yes no or I am a fence sitter (scared of offending the big yin if he does exist) I'm just curious to see how this goes
mcant
bumped because people are respecting the no posting idea
StitchInTime
Well, I'm afraid I have to comment, because I said, 'maybe,' but not out of fear, as suggested above, but because it all depends on how you define 'a god.'
philly
I'm afraid i have to comment too, voted Maybe, because as a race we know next to nothing in the GRAND scheme of things. To quote Lewis Black "Is milk good or bad...........(long silence) I rest my case" The thing is NOBODY knows for certain, therefore the maybe section. (i could really care less if there was any sort of higher power or not)
StitchInTime
The thing is NOBODY knows for certain' date=' . . .[/quote'] How do you know that nobody knows for certain? People who believe, believe they do.
TFMF
Well i voted no - but i can see your point Philly....i switch to maybe - we can't REALLY know - it's all very confusing - i think there's a more scientific explanation - but we can't know for sure.... StitchInTime
I think people are confusing 'knowing' with 'scientific proof.' What we know or what we think we know cannot always be proven or disproven scientifically.
GorunNova
no arguements/justifications or flames just a straightforward yes no or I am a fence sitter (scared of offending the big yin if he does exist) That statement implies intrinsic negative value behind the MAYBE choice, y'know... There's a difference between hedging your bets and a genuine agnostic 'we don't have enough proof either way' stand... It's rude to take a potshot and not allow response. philly
The thing is NOBODY knows for certain' date=' . . .[/quote'] How do you know that nobody knows for certain? People who believe, believe they do. Yes but they are using their beliefs, im using logic, and deduction and NO one has the absolute answer to anything. mcant
I cant remember who first said it. but I love the quote that say's "there are no agnostics in foxholes" I thin maybe votes is a bit of a cop out
TetsuoShima
Okay, as requested, I will not argue my or defend my position, but I will state it and I recommend other do the same, because if nobody posts, the topic will not be noticed enough. Especially on the torrent site this is of importance. That said: I voted maybe (although people who have been reading a certain thread could probably have guessed I would vote that way... :) ) EDIT: good poll btw, could be very informative! :)
StitchInTime
NO one has the absolute answer to nything. How do you know that? That's a statement, not a fact. Show me your proof.
GorunNova
Yes but they are using their beliefs' date=' im using logic, and deduction and NO one has the absolute answer to anything.[/quote'] I could be mistaken... but that sounds like an attempt at an absolute answer ;)
