Pella
Thanx to everyone who voted last week. It was a much better response. please keep it up. IMHO we've reached some of the greatest Dr Who stories ever in this weeks poll so it'll be interesting to see how things fall.
drken
I voted for The Deadly Assassin becouse I consider this one of the best Doctor Who's ever. The Invasion of Time is also one of my favorates.
Cypha01
I cant stand most of these, especially the robots of death. Urgh.. I do really REALLY love Image of Fendahl however, thats really perfect. The Masque Of Mandragora is pretty good too, but Fenahl rocks.
StitchInTime
No hesitation, here: Deadly Assassin. It was the first of the Doctor Who series I ever saw, and the one that hooked me.
underscore
Some really great stories here, some of the best in the 70s imo. Too many to choose from, but I gotta go with the robots of death. It has a great story thats really well paced, great dialogue, good sets. A couple of really dumb sound effects :) some ridiculous costumes :) and a few amazingly ott performances.... oh yes, a classic for me :)
Potato
Voted for Fang Rock...I just love the feel....plus every single guest character dies....can't beat that. I also like Deadly Assasin and Robots ("I heard a cry.") but I had to choose just one.
Cypha01
Fang rock does indeed have a fantastic atmosphere and indeed everyone dies apart from the doctor and companion, which makes it even more bleak, but the things kind of ruined for me with the rutan blob..it ruined the atmosphere for me im affraid. underscore
yeah, fang rock is a classic as well; that would probably be my second choice by the narrowest of margins. A genuinely spooky atmosphere puts this in the top ranks, but the character interplay is not quite as punchy as robots of death imo. Pity the sontarans nemesis werent used a little more often really, they are one of the non anthropomorphic beasties that dr who's budget managed to create. paniq
Was going to go for Fang Rock - but went for Robots (as just recently got a decent copy and watched it I guess!)
Moonstalker
Hard to pick one from this list. Went with Talons (the historical story, a touch of sci-fi, a little horror, some typical overacting AND Leela doing her best mud wrestling) What more could you want? S0V13T
I voted for The Talons of Weng Chiang. Loved Tom's outfit for that one.
trebor
I wished I had 2 votes... Deadly Assassin and Robots of Death. That robot design is the most elegant one every created to date.
Pella
OOOhh a three way tie and my favourite 'Horror...' not even in the running!!!!. I knew thisw as going to be a close one, but how do I decide between the three. All of them are excellent stories. As refereree I'm going to have to go with 'Robots' because, it's an excellent story and stylish. I still find the robot masks disturbing and gorgeous at the same time. time to close this one then, part three on it's way.
