sqw68
Just seen the DW bit on the BBC website. Was this meant as a one-off or is this the start of the new series? anyone know?
roach
It was both -- it was mostly intended as a short skit to promote the Children in Need action. But it takes off right where season 27 ended, and the end seems to be right before the Christmas special. At least that's when the Doctor and Billie want to visit her mom. paniq
Also the Christmas Specials aren't one-off as they are planning another for 2006
Bob43434
I belive that it was just the first few minutes of the Christmas special, as the regneration has to be explained more for the new audience. And yes they are doing another chirstmas special which will tie into the third series much like this years is tieing into season 2.
Fenriswolf
From what I know this segment was additional materal so they didn't need to spend a few minutes of the Xmas special setting the scene after the Parting of the Ways. We'll find out for certain however when the special airs, which really isn't long to go now :)
Ruk
belive that it was just the first few minutes of the Christmas special FYI: The fundraising segment is separate footage and NOT part of the Christmas Invasion show. Definately download it and watch it before you watch the new episode.
