VonHelton
My fear is that the drama shows an so on. has lower production costs. And whit the same amount of people watching the shows as scifi shows the networks will make the show whit the lowest cost. That's exactly what's happening. :(
bbbb
It's interesting that there is no Enterprise on the other US networks other than UPN. It's no wonder it has such low ratings. Not everyone has high speed internet either so its unlikely that many people can even download it. In Canada most people can get CityTV on their normal cable package, or if they have a bigger package (for more money) they can get Enterprise on Space Channel as well. The ratings system should take international audiences into accoun too and see how Enterprise's ratings change.

[/quote'] Unfortunately rating system does not take international audiece into account and I dont think it will in the near future. People who advertise products on UPN during the Show pay depending on how many viewers tune in. These advertisers does not care about how many people watch it in canada or austrailia or UK or elsewhere. CityTV in canada cares about its ratings there but they might be using a different system and also canada as a whole has a differnt population and it is much smaller. The only way they would take into account the worlds population watching Star Trek is if only one channel was showing it across the world and advertisors targeted all of the population. MrEvil
I predict' date=' STARGATE ATLANTIS next to get the ax. Ax me anotha questin. Well, looks like you're gonna have to wait a year because SG:A has been picked up for another season. I think MGM's already started production on Season 2 in order to premiere in July. I also doubt that Atlantis will get axed any time soon because the Atlantis premiere had HIGHER ratings than the SG-1 premiere.

MrEvil
VonHelton: Farscape was canceled for monetary reasons. I think an ep of SG-1 cost HALF of what a Farscape ep cost. Atlantis costs about the same/ep as SG-1 does last I remember and Atlantis' ratings are at or near those of SG-1's. Farscape is another case of TV execs widening the profit margin by canceling successful, but expensive to produce shows.
Heimdall
In my opinion, most of the reality shows are more sci-fi and contains more aliens than the "real" sci-fi shows. Lol

Lol[/quote'] Interesting way of looking at it, but I seriosly hate reality shows. I get enough of that stuff in my existing life I don't need to know which woman cooked which boss's dinner.... it has one word to describe it all.... boring
Heimdall
Relentless: Hope you didn't misunderstand me, i also really, really hate the "reality"-shows. I hoped for the genré to die a couple years ago, but instead it has escalated beyond understanding... What i meant with the alien-thing, was that many of the "people" attending the shows, often live in their own little world and are more "off-planet" than the common man. I just really don't understand how people can degrade themself like they do, just to gain a little fame or whatever....... They probably don't realize that most people just see them as stupid or patetic.

Yeah I get what your saying, pretty much its like this "Live your life if you want to live it , but why bother getting influenced by shows that brush off emotions that really do not exist heart to heart for what they 'appear' to be".... In other words, whats real is real and whats not is not and one must live out his or her life without the ill influence of 'reality' shows which are nothing of any such reality as they claim to be. I'd rather dream and make it clear I'm dreaming than just pretend its a 'reality' show when truely it is nothing more nothing less than what Sci-Fi shows are; dreams yet to be fuffilled. Elessar
it resembles a common cliche quote "Today's science fiction is tomorrow's science."
