How do you keep & Listen to yours?

Right, I guess most of you here are collecting/listening to Big Finish Audio's, so really I was wondering what format people were keeping theirs in, snd listening to them in?

I've been getting most the the audios off the Newsgroups (a.b.drwho) where they tend to be released in ISO rips and 256k MP3, so I'm getting the latter as its quicker to d/l. As I have an MP3 player I listen to them on that. I'm storing them on DVD's (so about 20 stories per disk), however wondering whether it would be nice to burn each to proper CD's and try and sort out covers so I've a nice visual collection.

So tell us all what you do?

Do you only get MP3 versions - is it because thats the only version you see? Do you get ISO's as you want as pure and HiQ a format as you can?

Do you store all the audios on a big HDD? Maybe you archive them to disk only after you've listened to them - or straight away? Is it crammed on Data DVD's/CD's or you wanting each on its own CD with cover?

Just thought I'd give people an excuse to chat :cyclops:

Well, I have all of them (including the spin offs) as Mp3's. I burn them two cds, but I have group each doctor togeather. So I have 4 disk of 5th doctor stories, 5 cds of 6th Doctor stories ect. I listen too the cds in my cd/mp3 player and I also put the current plust the next few onto my mp3 player. I have turned some into normal audio cd's, over two or three cd's (depending on story) and printed off the cover for use in the car. I also have backed up all of them onto dvds. So if something happens too the cds, I'll make a new cd from the dvd back ups.

I downloaded most of them in the 6 part releases and the rest when they are released. I never new of iso formats though.

Wow the doctor order is good - pity I didn't think of that. Maybe I could reorganise or just produce an index sheet??

Does your ipod play them fine? My cheapo 1G MP3 player seems to play them out of order (so I tend to batch join tracks into complete episodes (usually 4 per story) to get round it!)

I actually subscribe to the monthly range, Cyberman, Benny, and Shappire and Steel. I only download them out of sheer laziness. It makes life so much easier rather ripping all those CDs just keep as back up and put them on my mp3 player.

Gallifrey and Sarah Jane are the only 2 series that I haven't bought - only so much funds and they are tied up by the above. Tjose I store on my PC and Mp3 player. The UNIT stories I never really fancied - I haven't really been into that era of Doctor Who.

I have a cheap MP3 player that uses USB drives. I am getting a iPOD for my birthday from my parents, so as to take away with me to recruit training. I've listned to them on my Mums ipod and they play in perfect order. As for my, the play the folder in the right order so say they play episodes 1 through to 4 of The last no problems, but it has the order of the folders backwards.

I will be subscribing after my training is over and I get settled into my new life in the RAAF. And I fully intend to purchase the back catlouge so I'll own all of them legally. But for my current situation I can't afford the cost. And I only found out about them Six months ago. So these downloads will do for now, but I will purchase them, and keep the Mp3's so I don't have to rip them.

I burn my backups on data dvds. As I listen to them on my IPOD, no reason to burn onto CDs.

I did buy a bunch of my favorites recently when I hopped up to TARDIS2005 over the holidays. Not having to pay shipping amd getting a volume discount really helped with cutting the costs. Would subscribe if I could afford it, but unfortunately a college teacher's salary isn't all it used to be.

I burn 'em to DVD for storage' date=' then burn a CD copy for the car's MP3 CD player. The Doctor keeps me entertained on long half-hour drives (and Dalek voices and sounds get me odd looks at traffic lights! ;-) ).[/quote']

I remember there was once a dashtop box that had sounds in like lazer pistols and "exterminate" - I almost wore out the "exterminate" button though I ended up not buying it. LOL.

I've got a few in cue/bin format like #44 Creatures of Beauty as the MP3's seemed out of order - but no they weren't!!

The Doctor keeps my brain from turning to mush when I'm darning socks or performing other mindless menial chores.

Hmm. I wonder what the neighbours think of the sound effects.
