pec2000uk Posted December 6, 2005 Share Posted December 6, 2005 well can you not just ban the leaching mo-fo's? and how did they complete so quickly? i am dl @ about 5kbs and seeding at nearly 200kbs (4GB upload now) - server connection (not this shitty 10MB line) where is the bandwidth for people like me??? all i have is the first episode since i couldn't wait to get it, the others are at about 10-15% complete! aaaagh! Hilander72 Posted December 6, 2005 Share Posted December 6, 2005 Even if you have a slow connection, don't use that as an excuse to stop seeding... :thinking: I use to have a slow connection (128Kbit/s=16KByte/s both ways) and I use Azureus. I've noticed that when I used more than 80% of Max Global Upload, the download speed decreased quite dramatically. I really don't know why, but I'm guessing that they don't recommend a 80% setting for nothing. I belive (not fact) that it has something to do with seed to peer/peer to peer communication. If you cann't upload you requests fast enough, the recieving peer/seed has already recieved these requests from other peers and ignore yours or put them last in the request list or something. And don't worry about the ratios until you've completed your download, cause you'll do the right thing and seed until your ratio is good (while your watching DS9). And now that I have a faster connection I still (most of the time) use the 80% setting when downloading and limit my max downloading to about the same as the max global upload. I did how ever unlimit my download on this torrent (was encouraged, see earlier postings) and completed downloading in ~5h (=average 250KByte/s) Currently I have >2.5 share ration (uploaded >11GByte) and still seeding ~100KByte/s, as promised.
