Stu
Star Trek is my favourite, I saw it from a young age in the early 1970,s so has always been in my life - where as Star Wars came on the scene much later , loved the movie and it's cutting edge special effects. meateater
Star Wars used to be the KING of all sci-fi so... If you forget a bad string of prequels... it's considered in the top ten greatest stories ever told... also... Star Wars has no culture reference so it's loved across the world... That's so true... The story of the eternal struggle between the light and the dark is universal in every culture. On another note, is the guy in your avatar you, GhostShadow? If it is, then I've gotta say that you're one fine-lookin' guy... Gotta keep you away from my girlfriend... She's got a thing for the uniform. Actually, I think that's a given for all females. bbbb
I love both but if had to choose would choose Star Trek. Also...have never felt shame in my choices in life. "Being truely cool is not caring about how cool you look to others" Nice avatar Bia. Truly TOS had some nice looking women. She was one of them. bbbb
Star Wars games clearly outclassed Star Trek games every time. Games like X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, Battlefront I and II and even Star Wars Rebellion accurately immerse the gamer to the immense Star Wars universe in a way no computer game dynasty has ever done before. I would go so far as to call the old SW games a dynasty for they were truly spectacular back in their day and have clout even today. Who could say no to the Death Star run in X-Wing? Or the thrilling storyline and action/adventure in TIE Fighter? Or the chance to become a heroic Jedi beating semingly insurmountable odds and doing it again in Jedi Outcast? I must say that Jedi Knight and TIE Fighter were my all time favorite computer games. No other game immersed me so well to the Star Wars universe or kept me playing for so long. The loyalty garnered in TIE Fighter led me to play that game to the best of my ability, I almost felt I was a valued pilot in the Imperial Navy, battling evil and crime. This game drove me to such success that I credited my great marks in my early years of high school to the work ethic I gained playing TIE Fighter, being one of SUCCEED! What more could a gamer want from a game? Jedi Knight was a true quest for me. I relished the opportunity to become a Jedi. This was before Jedi Outcast was announced of course. The drama of the storyline was such that I was alone against overwhelming odds. My character (Kyle Katarn) was a man of immense personal strength of character and I made sure I could do no less than my best. Fighting through all those armies and dark jedi really made me feel like part of the Star Wars universe. Did I forget to mention the add-on levels? They seamlessly integrated into the game allowing me to play scenarios like the ROTJ lightsaber battle or Beggar's Canyon from ANH. Did I forget to mention the Bespin saber duel?
