love it or hate it, everyone must admit starfleet personnell have the weirdest sense of style in the known universe, and no where else is that perverse sense so evident as in their hairdos. Ive heard kirk had a toupe? but we have also spocks "bowl cut", pulaskis decaying-zombie style, kes peter pan look and finally janeway mushroom-cap effect :) maybe the bold is the safest way to go - picard and sisko knew that! :)

There were a few people with cool hair styles in trek. Worf comes to mind instantelly (DS9 Worf, not TNG worf), infact, ALL klingons had dynamite hair styles / beards, even the women. Especially the women.

Data / Lore had slick haircuts too.

what really got me irritated, is that EVERY non-human race had tlike some kind of racial hairstyle going on. on Vulcan and Romulous, everyone gets the bowl cut. On Cardassia Prime, they have to keep their hair medium length, and gell it back, and where ever the Vorta are from its like The Founders insist that they have some kind of modified high-top fade.

It's like their own governments took a vote 200 years ago for "What hairstyle should we have, as a people" and by law each member of each race is forced to have identicle styles.

At least we all know Picard is immune to the effects of this phenomenon...

You could always count getting even more bald as a change of hairstyle ;)

Offtopic note, its funny in the 24th century we can cure all kinds of stuff from cancer to diabetes but they didn't find anything to cure baldness? I know in Voyager, the Doctor "stimulates" 7of9's hair to grow out after she leaves the Borg, but maybe Picard was "too old"? Eh, nitpicking again, sorry

janeway's hair in the last few seasons was great

You all seemed to have over looked Deanna Troi's Hair.

Her hair along with her outfit, was constantly changing - from the bad perm, to bun up with that horrible metal jewellery embedded, to frizzy down, to sultry straight.

(and lets not mention her re-appearence in the last episode of Enterprise).

lmfao!, so true- that is why we was the best captian. He didnt have to worry about his hairdo. He only had to worry about the Romulans, the Klingon, and the Borg- its a great relief to not be able to worry about his hair i guess.

oh, and has any one seen the Google ads this topic has brought up, lol

My fav Janeway hairstyle was in the EP Living Witness - Season: 4 Episode: 21.

Ehh, s4e21 of what show is that?

Voyager S4 EP21 is called: The Omega Directive and I can't find a Voyager episode named Living Witness on startrek.com... Am I Missing something??

Anyways, I do like Janeway's 4th season (starting with episode 8 Year of Hell) hairstyle best of all.

EDIT: Doh, I'm blind it's episode 23 of the 4th season, just looked right past it...

hmm, Living Witness - heh, evil janeway :)

Synopsis:

The U.S.S. Voyager and its crew are on display in a Kyrian museum 700 years in the future, and they are being blamed for a horrible civil war that nearly wiped out the Kyrian race. Through inaccurate simulations, the crew is shown as violent people who did not hesitate to destroy anything or anyone standing in their way of getting home. Approached by the Vaskan Ambassador for help in his fight against the Kyrian, Janeway supposedly slaughtered millions of innocent people in exchange for wormhole travel to the Alpha Quadrant.

But who had the most upkeep for their hair? I'd say a toss up between Riker/Troi/Janeway. Troi's was always changing and she had to keep the volume of it up otherwise it kinda flatened out. Janeway's was just hilarious in the first two seasons, whenever the ship would shake due ot whatever, at least 2-3 long strands of hair would pop out of her hairbun in the back. Riker was mainly his beard, I never found maintaining an even beard on a daily basis an easy task though in the future they still have barbers so who knows.

You are correct. But if you do a search on Startrek.com for "Living Witness" it will lead you to this page. I guess Startrek.com screwed up because it clearly states on said page: Season 4 - Episode 21. Someone must be sleeping at the switch!
