Tenebrae
I can see the underlying reasoning behind your argument and it would make sense (in treknobabble terms at least) I actually just looked at the script: http://www.imsdb.com/scripts/Star-Trek-First-Contact.html It doesn't say how long it'll take but it implies that it would allow them to attack BEFORE the 24th century. So perhaps there is some validity to your argument.
queenhank
it would make sense (in treknobabble terms at least) I never professed to be speaking in any terms other than technobabble. I have as much knowledge of physics as is gained from semi-regular reading of Astronomy and Scientific American, which gives me just enough knowledge to make seemingly logical Sci-Fi technobabble, and no more. Tenebrae
All that is required to speak fluent treknobabble is an episode where Geordi goes "Coolant leak! We've got a coolant leak!" And pretty much any episode of Voyager where everyone spouts it at every oppurtunity. "Captain - I'm monitoring a thermal variance in your caffeinted beverage! It's haeomarraging gaseous particulates!"
Steveo
You missed out the rolling under a containment door at the last second. Geordi always does that.
Tenebrae
No - it only seems like he did because in one episode Riker relives the memory over and over again.
Mav
No - it only seems like he did because in one episode Riker relives the memory over and over again. 5x12 "Violations"? Good thing they just used the same shot just at multiple angles, I don't think Levar could stand doing barrell rolls for a three hour shoot ;o Or if you really wanna speak treknobabble, just watch some TOS. Scotty always got away in the technobabble area just by using really bad analogies.. "Cap'n I canna' do it, the warp core is running hot. Like my car on a sunday after noon in the middle of July, with all the windows rolled up!"
scratzin
The gist is borg survivors of First Contact wake up 100 years later and cause havoc - Archer stops them but they send a signal to the collective in the delta quadrant. So ENT have decided to change TNG timeline - So it now it never was Q's fault that the borg became aware of the federation and earth. Instead they have created a time paradox - Borg go back in time to send a signal to the past borg who eventually come to take over the federation - but cant - so they go back in time to send a signal to the past borg - Ad Infinitum Great, thats all we need. :o WTF i was just in a FPS mood ( run and shoot, nothing else) and got real headic of this. Or in the ENT episode where they found that biocircuitry ship, after a TIME the owners retrieved it. But why didnt they earlier :o
Tenebrae
Because they hadn't activated the beacon. If they had retrieved it before the temporal beacon was on, they'd have created a paradox.
