No I don't support the death penalty. What if you arrested the wrong person? Then you'd be killing an innocent.

Throw them in a cave w/ food & water, but nothing else. No TV. Not radio. No luxuries. For life. (With possibility for release when they're 30 & finally matured out of their teenage stupidity.)

Sorry. I should clarify that they have security videotapes of them doing it. As for capital punishment, is there a form of punishment severe enough for killing someone merely for sport?

I think that beating someone to death goes beyond simple teenage stupidty. Besides, when is it that one learns right from wrong? One of them is 17, I believe. Is it asking too much for 17-yr-olds to know that assaulting a human being less fortunate than yourself is wrong in every sense of the word?

I'd give the surviving victims a couple of bats and let them have some *fun*.

I don't belive in the death penalty, but a totalt isolation from the rest of the world as a life sentence would serve as a good deterent. Anybody remember the movie Escape from New York with Kurt Russell as Snake Plisken?

We have capital punishment in the UK.......it just not public, it happens in prison.

If a guy kills an old lady the screws leave a newspaper on the poole table with the detailed article of the crime. The prisoners are then allowed to beat the hell out of the offender until hes with in a few minutes of death then hes rushed to the prison doctor.

Dont even get me started on crisp packets in the showers LMAO.

You know, I think the death penalty is a viable option, but not the way we have it. The person should just be shot in the head. Bam, done. As it exists now, putting someone on death row, and then putting them to death, costs more than housing them in prison for their entire life. It's insane. We should just kill people who commit offenses such as rape, murder, child abuse, etc. Just shoot them, and be done with it. No trial, even. The police show up, and shoot them. Sure, some innocent people get killed, but the end result is that people are too scared to do horrible things like that. The death penalty is not a deterrent. I believe this is because the death penalty seems so easy to get around. You go to court, your lawyer gets you off. Even if not, you keep going back to court, and thus you keep getting the date pushed back. If the police just shot you, people would not commit violent crimes.

Coming soon: No evidence requiered, also a pain in the butt and costs time and money and they could be innocent and that would be an even bigger mess. ;)

It's great that everyone has the rights of the criminal at heart, but its basically a kick in the nuts to the victim's family. What about their rights? Do you think it's "justice" to use their tax dollars to keep their loved one's murderer alive?

For me, there are only a few questions that needs to be answered in this case:

1.) Is there irrefutable evidence that they did it?

- Yes, the videotapes.

2.) Was it justified (self-defense, protection of others)?

- No, it was for sport and a few laughs.

3.) Are they mentally incompetent?

- As much as I would like to answer "Hell, yes", they are not.

BAM! A bullet to the brain. No waiting, no fuss, and the mess is a bonus as a deterrent. I think a quick death like this would be more mercy than they deserve...

So this has made national (or international?) news huh? I though it was just on the local news here, although it was pretty bizarre.

I'd give the surviving victims a couple of bats and let them have some *fun*.

That's a good idea except maybe use Whiffle Ball bats instead wooden or aluminum ones so you don't kill them (they won't suffer if they're dead). :p

What about that episode of DS9 where Chief O'Brien was in a virtual prison? That might be a good idea. Wouldn't that be cheaper then real prison? Does it matter if you actually serve a sentence as long as you feel like you did and change your life as if you did? Prisons are supposed to be correctional facilities after all.

It has to be *fun* both ways. ;)

And they can really start making those multiple life sentences worth while. :D

I meant it was on national TV news or TV news in other countries. I suppose it would be on the internet too.

so according to this the ones killing the ofender should also be punished, considering they are also murderers, to take another life is still murder even if they give it a nicer name.

And if your a fan of eye for an eye, and tooth for a tooth, then we would all be toothless and blind, or as the wording really is, he hit you, you loose a tooth you go and get his tooth to replace the one you lost. Same with eye

I absolute, totally, as much as possibly DISAGREE and then some.

I can only see one bright future for the "valuable" teens:

MASSMURDER

and i absolutly, totally, as much as possibly AGREE with you Hilander72 - i mean Synexo - if you lost all your money and your house and had to live on the street - would you think teens beating you to death is ok because they can change there lives...? i mean those teens have killed someone - that will stay with them forever
