Have anybody ever seen "War of the Worlds" the TV series? I remember it was on ch.13 in the US before it became UPN, the channel for anything African American... That was pretty creepy. That and "Friday the 13th" the TV series kept my bed plenty moist back then... :cyclops:

Two games that need obvious nomination:

System Shock 2 - all alone on a ship full of a psychotic AI and infested humans. I dare you to not be scared ;)

Half Life 2 - We don't go to Ravenholme any more.

AH, ZOMBIES!

Honourable mention for Thief 3 - as it's not sci-fi but The Cradle is quite terrorful.

Was that the 1960s-70s one? Where they were going around America stopping alien invaders?

No, this one only ran from 1988-90. I don't have any memories of it except aliens with sucker-like hands taking over human bodies...

it was really, really bad.... set in the late 80's and followed on from the original movie... there series also had a full length film as a season opener, like Stargate and V! the stupid thing was it was based on the first film, and no one in the 80's knew about the original invastion as there was a major govenment coverup and people in the 80's just didnt know what happend. even tho most of the planet was destroyed!!!

The old ones are the best would like to add :-

Soylent Green

All the Quatermass even the series

I think modern films are all special effect and not enough atmosphere but alien is pretty scary and i'm yet to meet a woman who when pregnant hasnt had the dream of the alien baby rippin thru the stomach.

I'm gonna upload Friday the 13th: The Series as soon as my eMule gets it to me. It'll be interesting how grown-up minds will think about it. ("grown-up refers to biologically' date=' and in no way "behaviorally")[/quote']

I've given up. My eMule is sssooooooooo %$@! slow!

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm going out on a limb here, and going with Night of the Living Dead.

The dead return to life, seeking human victims. While none of the sequals touch on the root cause of this, the original 1968 classic states in a news broadcast that a probe returning from Venus brings a mysterious radiation, and was set to self destruct. However, the radiation spread across the eastern half of the US, and caused the situation seen in the movie.
