Nice site Von. When I was in college I worked on our entry for the Sunrace' date=' which was awesome. I wish thought that our school could have competed in the "Robot Fighting" competitions too. It was always great to run across a telecast of them on TV. Unfortunately MIT was a little too expensive for me so no dice.[/quote']

 

Most deisel engined autos will run on cooking grease if one is willing to modify the engine.

 

......I wonder how big of a deal it would be to set up a solar cell that kept the battery recharged?

 

One of the biggest aggrevations I know is coming out to a car with a dead battery!

There are plenty of places you can get a solar cell trickle charger for your car. Some just sit on the dash and plug into your Cig lighter, while others are mounted to the roof and hard wired into the electrical system. My friend had three built into the roof of his RV and it worked really well. I would have loved to have some on my suburban but the only times I had battery trouble was in the winter and solar power, in the winter, in Alaska, is pretty much non-existant! B)
