dougthenut
It's official: Enterprise has been Canceled It's a sad day for us all, though not wholely unexpected. http://www.trektoday.com/news/020205_04.shtml http://www.startrek.com I managed to get up to episode 16 of series 4 of Enterprise. Since then nothing. How many did they make? Was that it or are they just having a break before they finish off the series? Everything I've read says it's to be cancelled by May of this year so there's time to squeeze a few more in to at least round it off and give it some sort of reasonable curtain call. Best wishes to you, Doug
VonHelton
How many did they make? 22. Don't run off, you still got a few more episodes, and they promise to be the best yet! :D

epyonx1
Maybe it's not such a bad thing that enterprise is getting cancelled. Good thing I have a habit of preferring to watch old, completed Star Treks (TNG/DS9/Voyager) rather than new ones. You always run the danger of some idiot exec wanting to "cut costs". Too bad. T'Pol was SO HOT ... almost beat Seven of Nine !!! :( Ah well ... hope they can bring back the spirit of TNG in the next one. Cast selections since then have had something amiss. Original : Too much 'before my time' ... though Spock kicks arse TNG : POWERFUL cast. Go Picard vs Borg !!! DS9: Sisko's okay. Odo & the Jem'hadar ... cool. As for the rest: Not bad. Voyager: JANEWAY'S VOICE IS SO ANNOYING !! ... Seven of Nine and last few episodes with the Borg save the series. Enterprise: Captain Archer was awesome in the series 'Quantum Leap' ... ahh ... good times ... but the whole new Enterprise spirit ... not quite there. T'Pol tries to save the series ... nice try, hot stuff. ;)
leloup
I' m sad to hear that a ST show is cancelled even if i've never seen it yet. Though I'm european, I've visited the us years ago and was stunned by the number of advertising breaks during a show. It seems to me that a show on an american channel is just an excuse for broadcasting advertising (here we have 5 min of ads per hour of show). If I'm rightwhy ENT has been cancelled is because people were not enough to see the ads (or they were disapointed that they didn't earn enough money they thought they'd do). Besides, when i'm reading your posts, I learn that ENT has quality and defaults. One of them is to be set in a pre-TOS century. It sure is a handicap. Don't give up, there's plenty of idear for new shows. DS9 is my favorite because with just one new enemy (The Dominion) they could make new stories about relationship between the fed and some olders species like the klingons and the Romulans. It a trick that can be used for a new show. A show abut the ST academy could be cool too. it's late I gotta go. Live long and prosper
KaiserDay
Well now it is on to watch BSG until the next trek is premiered. I just wish that TU would drop their ridiculous campaign to try and shut down Paramount over the loss they had.
AbsolutPrEvl
I think we all downloaded enterpise too much instead of tuning in which killed the neilson rating... BUT, I think a short break, then a new series comes along and it'll EXPLODE once again... (like how about one set in the TOS era, just another ship? what? Kirk was teh ONLY starfleet captain that did anything then?) They could do it, and SCREW the origin of future event CONSTANTLY leading into B&B's star tek (ever notice how most enterprise eps are leading homage to B&B creations and >NOT< The Roddenberry creations? pisses me off, I mean The BORG >AND< The Ferengi on enterprise? fuck off... I'd like to see a series of the great war of Star Fleet vs. The Klingon's and Romulans actually... But they've done way too much Klingon in star trek and when they FINALLY had Romulans in the movies, it was about time,,, It's done, and now that the mirror eps have aired.. THAT'S the show's peak, it won't come slose again... BYE... and I hope B&B have nothing to do with the next incarnations.. but keep the new writers they picked up fro season 4, they're ACTUAL fans of Star Trek
KaiserDay
I watched and dled all the time. I have all of the episodes and I still watched them when they were on. At one time I couldnt see them due to work but that was the only time I didnt see it.
BobBobBob
The reason I never watched it on TV beyond the second season is that in my area, the local UPN affiliate went cable-only... And not having cable, I had no choice but to download it.
kurisuuira
They don't show current episodes in Hawaii so I'm not to blame...
kurisuuira
Some comments on TOS/TNG first contacts that somehow appeared on ENT. Aquisition: Lame, but only due to the lameness of the Ferengi in general. TNG First contact. Regeneration: Very Good. The Borg are a treat no matter what the situation. As for the episode, I believe that it actually cements the so-called canon by cleaning up the mess left by first contact... TNG first contact. Kir'Shara: Good enough... I would rather have seen the romulan dressed in TOS style garb... the Post TNG uniforms were fine enough (Although they looked like they were wearing couch cushions...) but the Romulans were one of the few alien opponents that TOS successfully marketed... As for the few Vulcan collaborators they had that saw them, I'm sure they weren't going to make a public announcement that they shared common ancestry... And even if some humans were to see them, they may have been persuaded not to record it in the history books so as not to hurt their alliance with the Vulcans... TOS first contact, mentioning Pre-TOS history. I must say that bumping into someone Once does not imply a formal introduction. How many strange "background aliens" did we see in Broken Bow? Remember that none of the Star Fleet types ever brought out a pad and pencil to even take down a few names... It stands to reason that, with this kind of attention deficit, they would overlook some species for a few years... The Xindi... God I hated them... I fully agree that they were a complete waste of time and a huge divergence from the so-called canon. I can overlook the chance encounters with anonimous big-eared aliens or cybernetic vampires that doesn't find it's way into the history books, but to invent a species that has six mostly humanoid but completely unique sub-species that pre-dates older shows that never mentions them is completely impossible. Xenobiologists from every planet everywhere would permanently park themselves in Xindi space for the next three-four hundred years just to figure out how it could have happened on one planet... But there is the possiblity that "canon" never came into play as the history of earth contines to be tampered with. Time travel brought some 29th century computer technology back to 20th earth during the Voyager series and may explain how the older ENT Enterprise looks more advanced than the newwer TOS Enterprise. Time travel also led to the ENT encounter with the Xindi, Borg and Could Explain away the Suliban too... I'm going to enjoy these shows as I did the previous series... ENT may be a sad chapter in the book of Trek but it's not like we're going to stop reading.
tisjusme
:( SOB SOB SOB I will be the firt to admit that 'Enteprise' was fast becomming my favorite Star Trek. I liked the fact they included, backed-up and explained the history and missing peices of the puzzle. ( I am not sure if all the Star Trek books count) Voyager has been and continues to be my favorite because of the technology introduced. I have seen All Next Gen, All Voyager, All Enterprise (when I have completed the latest torrent ), All the Movies and only some of the Original Series & Animated Series. I feel that of all the Star Trek episodes I have watched, Voyager and Enterprise had a different style of acting which seems more up date and closer to reality. (Please aknowledge that I also feel 'Jean Luc Picard" aka "Patrick Stewart" was and is a brilliant actor along with so many others) The Doctor and medical bay in each of the three last Star Trek series seem to be rather extravigently designed and a focal point for new technologies. I think we can safely say that any future Doctor and Medical Bay will also be a fresh design. Weapons too have been a focal point. I am not a Quantum Theorist so I can not realy predict any advances in weapons or sheilding. I would like to see something radical like sub-space sheilding or something like "Sub-Nuclear multi dimensional phase shifting frequency rotating time warping instant transmission homing weapon and take on Q" but its doubtfull. I would also like to see a Star Trek series that concerntrates on the polotics of the Federation and not the technologies. Gene Rodenbery designed the series to be respective to the way humans evolve and of the battles we as humans go through again and again throughout time. Concerntrating on the Political side could be good I think. The series could still have a captain, starship and battles etc. but would have to include more of the Federation on Earth. Sounds like a viable option for Paramount too as they could easily incorporate this. No new technologyies would have to be created either! Anyhow, like so many others, depression will now be a regular Saturday Night in Australia. No enterprise on Niteshdw!!! I will have to watch them all again I suppose. Good bye Enterprise, nice knowing ya. And to Paramount :- Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Fenriswolf
It's a sad thing to see to be sure, not much more I can add to what has already been said apart from I will be definitely re-watching the show, quietly hoping that somewhere out there it'll come back or there will be a new something.
