Guest Guest
Hello from Spain. I am very angry about how the Entertainment Industries cancelled good TV SHows not only because its Star Strek, it has also his pedagogik Concept. We live in an Era who reality shows are very important where we want to know who sleep with who... and so on.. I am very angry with Paramout, of on hand I understand it, it is the way of business, but we must know that the business are not only the good thing for the humans, we need a good endoculturation and i think star trek open eyes even to rassists, and make us know that we are all the same species (Homo sapiens sapiens)... I really hope they will end good this season, so without lt any wholes... It was getting very interesting and now this... aaa.... ilogical pure... Then you say in USA they love libery.. and USA i say they love money, nothing more... it is a shame (here is it also like USA)... ANd people like us are only Trekkers... i cannot believe it Adios Tino-Agustin Triviño Piñeiro
andrewhaji
Even though 'some' people liked ENT alot of ST fans stil prefer to see New technology, futuristic stuff. Remember the poll where most people wanted to see futuristic stuff on the series? Well you just cant do it on ENT becuase its set before TOS. If Enterprise is replaced with a futuristic spaceship, it will get all of TNG audience plus even more!!! You can bet on it. ST has a huge fan base. They would be stupid to let it die. they have to come up with another series that is set in the 25th century or beyound. Amen to that! I'd definitely like to see a new series that incorporates a lot of the really cool stuff that we got to experience in DS9 and Voyager. I for one would love a series based around a Prometheus-class ship! I still love watching that episode!
randomname
This is a pity, I rather liked Enterprise. It was rather crap toward the beginning, but S3 picked up the pace nicely, and I was rather looking forward to a DS9-type recovery. Unfortunately, such is apparently not to be. As far as the viewing figures referenced go, they really are no indication of popularity. As far as I can tell (me not living in the US), the fact that Enterprise was broadcast at a bad time, on a channel with limited availability was a major factor. And I think people are also missing the international appeal of the show. It's broadcast all over the bloody globe, it's not just Americans tuning into UPN on Friday nights. I've watched every single episode from the first of S1 to the last of S3 on TV as they were broadcast - S4 hasn't yet been broadcast here (and that's another bone I have to pick with broadcasters: why delay the airing outside the US, so that people can download them?) - and so have plenty of people I know - but these figures don't seem to make it to the decision-makers. All in all, I do think cancelling Enterprise was A Bad Decision, at least based on the criteria they used to determine that it should be cancelled. I'll be the first to admit that Star Trek: Timeship Relativity would have been fun and exciting, but now there's probably not going to be another show for years! Looney247
I fully agree with this statement: Manny Coto and his new script editors, Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens, have managed to take the series back to the basics of Star Trek and finally realize the potential of the concept; an action adventure series set in the early days of the Federation. If only they would have come aboard sooner, the series might not have gotten cancelled. thesize
The timeline storie from Season 1-3 was crap. Of course it was...... 1. Klingons on Earth? Never happened....... 2. Borg on Earth? Never happened....... 3. Earth attacked? Never happened......... 4. Suliban? Kirk didn't know them........ 5. Xindi? Kirk didn't know them.......... :stare: BORG on earth?? WTF if you pay attention to the First Contact Movie, Picard destroys the sphere that went back in time, In the Regeneration episode, They find the reckage that Picard didn't destroy all traces as supposed to! Northern hemisphere... hello , Ice... bla bla bla. Archer quote, prolonged the invasion by what 200 years or so, Dude do you trek timeline math and it adds up, I think regeneration was one of the best independant episodes
smackemback
Reading some of these posts is amusing to say the least its easy to find faults in the series, easy to tear down episodes, timelines, continuity & so on but at the end of the day it´s just entertainment I enjoyed it, watched every episode due in large to this site but at the end of the day it was star trek a concept most of us have enjoyed watching ,participating in & talking about please dont help paramount justify cutting it by ripping it to pieces.......At the end of the day a star trek series has been cut by a big bucks company that has made a fortune out of the fans of the franchise over the years & who quite obviously dont give a toss as to what those die hard fans want .I for one think that paramount should be ashamed of themselves for the way they have behaved but I also believe that feeling ashamed is a concept that big bucks companys such as paramount will never grasp. ruskie
Hiya I'm new around here but am a long stadning trekkie... Anyways I' read almost all the post in this 14 pages long thread and so far found that most ppl want some hot babe in the show... C'mon(I don't care if you grill me for it) but that's stupid... Startrek imho was never about that. I always watched startrek for the sotry it told. To tell you the truth I hate T'Pol(Seven of Kes) and I hate 7of9 Those two made the show lousy... I liked Kes though a character that was evolving, trying to learn new things, strive for her own beterment. About Bakula yeah... don't agree with him being the captain as well. I'll say this I don't much like ENT... broken up timeline, pretty soffisticated tech compared to TOS maybe if they were to set it post TOS it might have worked out better. I think it deserves to die... but not in this manner... since from season 3 it was starting to acctually improve by a lot... I would have let it run through season 5... but not on some weird channel nobody sees. Also I'm from slovenia... we don't have a sci-fi channel here, we can watch any sci-fi on german channs(dubbed*I hate german language*) or watch it when someone decides to let us see the first season of sg-1 for the Nth millionth time or maybe the first few season of VOY etc... so sci-fi here is non-existant. That said I think there should be a world satelite channel for playing sci-fi.... We used to get sky one but we don't get that anymore... something about it being illegal or something.... so that says a lot about this stupid world... When someone will make a world wide sci-fi channel then they can start talking about rattings... Until such time I say Bumblebees should be axed, and Paramount should have it's greddy hands torn away from anything to do with startrek. Sorry if I went overboard with some stuff... but as said am new... and did I mention I hate forums...
remedyu
I'm from Malaysia and I can tell you right now that each season DVD that comes out is worth almost 400-500 in our currency and that's not cheap at all. If a person decided to buy the whole series (season 1-7) he's be paying close to 2400-2900. Now, for those of you in the US or in the UK, it might seem like a small amount of $$$ but for people in other countries, that have lower currency exchange, it's pretty damn expensive. But still, there are people buying the dvds. And it's because they love STAR TREK. ME, I'm saving up to buy them all, why? Because I grew up with STAR TREK. I watched STAR TREK every chance I get and even watch ENTERPRISE when it's on although I don't think it's THAT GREAT. But it's STAR TREK and it does fill a lot of gaps in the series. Hell, I love STAR TREK and will continue to love STAR TREK no matter what they dish out. I might moan and complain that there's not enough technology in ENTERPRISE, or that the characters are nowhere near as good as on TNG or DS9 or whatever the hell but I watch it all the same because it draws me to it :P About Archer, he might not be the best person to be a captain for ENTERPRISE, but I think he did alright. I think he actually made the show quite interesting. HE was definitely not like Picard, but you don't want every damn captain of a star ship to be like Picard do you? My point is that the fans have dished out a lot of $$$ over the years for DVDs, MODELS, CONVENTIONS, FAN LETTERS and SITES, etc because they love STAR TREK and will continue to love STAR TREK. Hell, to me, it told me a story, and hell, even though it's made up. It's a story I actually love and grew up with. I can't wait for the next one to come out. In fact, I wish that ENTERPRISE was still running because it was just getting to be good and it would have improved eventually. Doesn't matter though because Im still gonna get the dvds when it's out.
sureshotdan
enterprise....love it to bits but it's just silly...after just a few years in space they have it all...so what the hell happened over the next few hundred years (time loop?) you just after look around you and then look back in time to the 1800's....come on !

razorlock
lol pall - was just about to post the same link (hxxp://blog.scifi.com/battlestar/) to ron moore's blog (creator of the new battlestar gallactica series). Read his comments very differently, though. Thing I wanted to point out, that the way it stands right now, in his opinion, not only is Enterprise being cancelled, but the whole production facility is laid off and Star Trek won't be back anytime soon. Unfortunately. If it were up to me, you could scrap all the older series, if that would keep Enterprise going. Took me a while to get into Enterprise, but think it's the best Trek series yet. Sorry to see it go
dabrood
You don't need another series to enjoy Star Trek lol what a bucket of bullcrap... I doubt that this guy really believes in what he's writing. I like to watch Star Trek on TV and in the cinemas, that's the real deal. When those weird hardcore fans can live with there imagination of long gone times.... alright, but I want to be entertained with all new episodes out of the Star Trek unverse. Those so called "fans" lie to thereselves with this teletubby-talking about "the big break that will make everything better."
VonHelton
Interesting comments on Star Trek - about it continuing maybe? Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica is in competition with Star Trek. ......Let's keep that in mind when we read his comments. :stare:
psheldrake1
The problem with battlestar is that it's single minded. People running from monsters. BORING. The graphics are good but the plots are thin. It's more like a soap opera. Star Trek covered the science of imagination. Good plots, good acting, except where kirk was involved, and great effects. When battlestar is finished I'll probably forget it was on. I've already missed half the shows and still haven't missed anything important. The original series was alot better. When Star Trek is on, I watch every episode. One good thing, I get Star Trek seven times a day.

NiteShdw
Who says that Kirk and Picard didn't know about the Xindi? Just because I don't talk about WWI ever during my lifetime, doesn't mean that I don't know about it. The topic just never came up, big deal, doesn't mean it didn't happen. There is nothing in canon that says that it DIDN'T happen. The same thing with the Borg. Like I said earlier, 200 years before Picard, they bumped into a few Borg, but they didn't even know what they were called. So, it was unlikely that Picard would have known about that small incident 200 years before he was born. (Think about 1805, do you know about anything that happened anywhere in the world in 1805?)
