It was a weekly publication that you built up over the weeks. It had a seperate sections like Characters, Starfleet Vessels, Alien vessels, technology etc.

You collected them about 7 years ago when I was a big fan. I lost interest and put them in the attic but since I have become interested again I had a look through them.

You collected them in a folder. Over the weeks one folder would fill up and so they sent a new one. I eventually stopped collecting but in the end I had 12 huge folders - packed full of knowledge!

I must have spent about £200 I think. In the end I saw that this was going to continue on and on and on and the folders would never end. Every few weeks they would make a new pointless section like "The Crew under Kirk".

I was mainly interested in the ships plans/drawings and the great illustrations.

If you guys want to I can post a few scans/pics of things like the bridge of the prometheous, main engineering off most vessles and some other really nice illustrations. I figure why not since I spent all that money on it and its just sitting in my attic.

Yeah they went upto some ridiculous number in the high 300s I think.. I too got suckered for a while (about 20 issues or so) before I realized I was being had.lol.

I'm collecting the TNG dvds at the moment, 3 eps and a fact mag for 8 quid a fortnight the mags are quite good with a run down on each episode, pointing out significan characters, technology planets..etc plus 'blueprints' up the wazoo. Not bad, they all look nice on the shelf the dvd spines make up a rather long frieze.

I subscribed to that for a while, but got a bit annoyed at the inconsitency. As an example: the decision to place Quark in the character section, but Jake (or someone similar ... I no longer have them) in the crew. Noticing the bit on the invoice that welcomed feedback I wrote two detailed (probably very fan-wanky) letters describing my displeasure. Months went by with no response. I finally saw the thing as a rip-off.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have these also - shame that they never really covered Enterprise that much - it was the one publication that I really looked forward too- in addition to my Star Trek Monthly - (which is still going)

But the Fact Files went on for 19 Folders comprising of 294 issues (I believe - cant actually get to the early folders - as there are computer bits in front of them).

STINSV did actually start to include some of these pages as downloads - Will post here the ones that I have.

Well saying that though the Refit Enterprise probably has the most complex paint jobs going - and I would say that model wise that the refit Enterprise and the Excelsior look far better then later models because of the increased details put into them

Will post more schematics tomorrow

No Problem - always welcome - although I am running out of the ones that I was able to download from STinSV.com (RIP) however, I have the factfiles and will scan the others in - clean them up and continue to post if people are interested.
