GewehrSoldat
http://mrl.nyu.edu/~jhan/ftirtouch/ While I can't agree with all the buttons on star trek having numbers but no clear function (How do you open the shuttle bay doors? Button number 299643 of course!), this looks pretty awesome. I am on the verge of finding these people, savagely beating them about the head and neck with large, blunt objects and taking all their toys. Mindwalker
Ah yes. And that you see there is way beyond what LCARS do. SUCK IT, TREK! Reality is going to be far superior.
TFMF
Belongs in Modern Science? yeah that looks cool - but i think The LCARS thing was cool and i don't think it was too far off from what the future might be like
Tenebrae
I'd be hoping for direct neural interfaces by the 24th century. The fact that people were still tapping buttons - always a bit disappointing. I mean, LCARS might be like SUPER buttons... but still buttons. S0V13T
Looks like a lot of fun, but I'll stick to my mouse and keyboard for now :P Mod note: moved to modern science.

Beawulf
That system looks great. Cant wait for it to be available to the public. Kinda reminds me of minority report. If this technology were around when trek was made I bet they would have used it for the consoles. They talked about modifying layout of consoles, but it wasnt anything we ever saw happen.
