Tenebrae
Like Channel 4 - this forum can't have too many favourite/poll type threads. Moments in Science-Fiction comics, TV, games, films etc. that struck a cord be it tearful, joyful, ass-kicking and so on. Let's say - three per person. 1. B5... just so much of that show tugged at the heart strings. Even now though, that last episode gets me welling up at the end. 2. Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex One - Tachimoka sacrificing themselves. 3. End of Starcraft - best. outro. ever. Yeah, yeah - I just love the noble self-sacrifice thing. What can I say, it's just about the only thing that lets me tolerate this miserable race I had the misfortune of being born to.

Mav
So many, I could never put them in any order of signifigance - Spock's death in Wrath of Khan - Daniel's first "death" in SG-1 - Seeing Earth defend itself for the first time with our own constructed ship the Prometheus aganist Anubis in SG-1 - Angel's series finale so..sad :( - Earth beginning to unite in peace when they learn of space travel in Farscape - Ka D'argo's death in Farscape - DS9's large scale space battles - Best of Both Worlds in TNG I could go on, so many great moments/episodes in a ton of series I love
Steveo
Kirk's 'death' at the begining of Star Trek VII - Generations. That made me choke up that did. Also, slightly off the intended topic here, the music for Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home is absolutely superb.

Hilander72
I pick one: One of the first Sci-Fi movies I saw when I was a little man. 2001: A Space Odyssey. The Intro with the music and video. Unforgivable.
dabrood
Games: SW: KOTOR - the revelation of the major plot twist. I really didn't see it coming. I just thought "Boy, that's one heck of decently written game!" Movies: Alien - chestburst scene. After all those years it's still pretty horrifying. TV: I have to admit that I haven't seen much besides Star Trek and Firefly so I just leave that open for now.

Potato
A lot of what I would pick has already been mentioned so I guess I'll just jot down a few that aren't... Gwyneth sacrifices herself to help the Gelth only to learn that they were using her; she then uses her corpse to cause an expolsion that seals the rift and defeats them. (Doctor Who: The Unquiet Dead) Ripley commits suicide to keep the corporation from getting ahold of the Alien Queen inside her. An awsome end to a largely forgettable sequel. (Alien 3) Data sacrifices himself to save Picard and Earth. (Star Trek: Nemesis) Hmmm, I sense a theme here. "No greater love hath any one than this, that he lay down his life for another." Tenebrae
Thank the gods this isn't a maths test - none of you know how much THREE IS ;) dabrood: Excellent call on KOTOR. Shame the sequel was so poor. Grr, Deus Ex is to Deus Ex 2 as KOTOR is to KOTOR 2 - a bag of AIDS.

Tenebrae
Now was that 4x01? Anchor? I think so. Good ep. I'm afraid Episode 3 was about as dramatic as a Coke advert for me... Anyone that found the learching and "NOOOOO!" as anything more tha comic... well. They also put the death star in at the end for no real reason other than, it was in ANH... jsroberge
A lot of what was said so far is really great so I will put in my two cents and add some more to the lot. 1. Babvylon5 movie 'In the Beginning' when Lando turns from the window and say 'Where was I? Yes! The War!' The minute or so that follow when he explain the last two years of the war between Earth and Mimbar is one of the greatest moment ever. The dialog is great and the pictures associate with it goes straight to the point. 2. Beast War Season 2 episode 'Code of Hero' where Dinobot fights alone against all Decepticon until death to prevent the alteration of time. 3. ALL episodes of Battlestar Galactica so far... (keeping the fingers crossed)
Pella
1. Serenity: At the end where Mal says to the operative "I'm not going to kill you. I'm going to show you exactly what you want - A world without Sin. 2. Doctor Who: Tom Baker in Genesis of the Daleks when he's holding the 2 wires. 3. Star Wars: 'I AM you father' - nuff said. Carlvsi
Quite hard to decide really. Agree with Tenebrae, having watched the final ep of B5 the other day for the first time, I`m glad that I was alone to well up in peace. Have to point out that I also think that this is one of the best series finale ever. Another B5, Thirdspace the film, Leeta at the end saying "One mistake of, oh so many....." Last one is more of a sentimental choice. Going to see Star Trek - The Motion Picture at the cinema. Quite young at the time and couldn`t wait for the interval (you remember those) to end. Not one on my three, but have to point out the comedy of Janeway and Paris mating and creating a new life form!!! (can`t remember the ep title) Funny all the same. Tenebrae
Threshold - I think a lot of people (B&B included) consider it to be one of the worst episodes of Trek, period. Thirdspace is funny because it shows that Sheridan basically has a bit of a stiffy for fusion bombs.
