Hrimmer
Well any list like this will always be wrong for me, because there just is to much great stuff out there. In no order 1) Opening scene of BladeRunner (in a movie theater it was awesome) 2)Roy Battey's final monologe from Bladerunner 3)Opening scene from 2001 4)Enterprise flyby in ST:TMP, as a kid who watched the series and never even dreamed such a thing could happen, it was a love letter, a gift from Gene to all of us, seeing my childhood ship of dreams on the big screen. 5)Whale meets planet, Hitchikers guide TV series. 6)Alien exits mothership and meets Truffaut from Close Encounters 7)Opening spaceship flyover from Star Wars (once again, mindblowing in the theater in 77, on TV, not as impressive, still cool though!) 8)Data says "Oh Sh1t!" during saucer section crash in Generations. 9)Obi-wan "surrenders" to Darth Vader in Star Wars. Theres a million more, but it's a bit late 8^) (oh yeah, the closing credits of Buckaroo Banzai!)
Exterus
Yes, Babylon 5 has so many great moments that it has to be one of them. It's so hard to choose, though. Perhaps the interaction between Kosh and Sheridan that culminates in Kosh's death at the hands of the shadows. Or maybe the sequence when Londo is exacting his revenge on Lord Rifa (an action based on a false assumption, but still..) and delivers Rifa into the hands of a howling pack of Narns. The intensity of the moment combined with the hilarious soundtrack delivers a powerful and dramatic piece of science fiction.
Carlvsi
Been anywhere nice? Not to dis Trek, but B5 did have an appeal that was continuos. I haven`t seen all the films yet, but I do think that it contains many more great moments. I just smile now if I see Vir Cotto, and think of him waving. Exterus
I just smile now if I see Vir Cotto, and think of him waving. B) I never laughed as much in science fiction as when Vir asked Ivanova on advice on what women want sexually. Everytime I see him describe the six different levels of Centauri intimacy to her I'm always writhing on the floor laughing.
Exterus
Oh man, I just rewatched episode 20 of season 3 of Babylon 5. This is the episode I mentioned earlier when Lord Rifa is killed by the Narns on the Narn homeworld. I can't help but smile broadly from the point where Londos hologram appears down in the catacombs and through the delightfully chipper and somewhat morbid chase (accompanied by a cheery gospel tune performed in the chapel on Babylon 5, a tune named quite aptly "there's no hiding place down here") and all the way to when Rifa is pummeled to death by 15 gleefully violent Narns. This is simply the greatest show ever.
Centurion
You're right. Babylon 5 had a lot of great moments. B5's secession from the Earth Alliance and Neroon's death in the Starfire Wheel were two of my favorites.
Tenebrae
Ah yes, "And The Rock Cried Out" is a fantastic episode. Rifa thinks he's so smart and then realises Londo was playing him all along. Love the music in the chase scene and G'Kar watching and nodding his approval. Yeah, there are a lot of good moments in B5... most of them in seasons 2-4.
