The term rootkit is used to describe the mechanisms and techniques whereby malware, including viruses, spyware, and trojans, attempt to hide their presence from spyware blockers, antivirus, and system management utilities. There are several rootkit classifications depending on whether the malware survives reboot and whether it executes in user mode or kernel mode. alaska
Once this program has detected and classified the discrepancies, is there an autofix option, or do you have to make the changes manually?
the6ofpopes
This app only detects rootkits, you'll need to either find a specific rootkit remover (I'm unaware of any software that can) or reformat the infected hard drive. Realize your antivirus & ad blocking software or anything else your using to secure you PC at present can't detect rootkits, this is the only currently available software that can, MS is making one also but it's not complete yet. Read the whole description at the link, it explains everything.

What's the motivation behind it? As I understand it, this program detects spyware that is buried so deep within yor computer, the only way to kill it is to reformat your hard drive. ........Kinda sucks, but you do what ya gotta do, I guess. :stare:
