xalloutwarx
Ok we all think/know Enterprise got dumped because it of bad writing and the lack of new ideas, but does anyone think it would of made a difference of it was to be set in the time frame of DS9/Voyager? That setting it so far back in Trek history kind of killed it a little before it even started? Think about it, if your one of the people that disliked it, would the appeal of been there more if it was set alone side DS9? Trek should of moved forward not backwards… This isn’t what this thread is about, but other trek series that would of been a good idea: Dominion/Federation alliance, the war never ended, new series: Half Fed half Dominion crew, how much would that change the trek universe? And Set straight after First Contact, Earth rebuilding itself after WW3, the different Earth factions, and the struggles/alien-ism of meeting and welcoming what was before was just Sci-Fi: Aliens!!! Anyway....!

xalloutwarx
errr - Dominion/Fed alliace - that's just to wierd i think... would of been different... totally change trek as we know it, a total re-shuffle of the Alpha Quadrant... Earth a Dominion terrority!?!?! Even tho im against wars n stuff, an uneasy ST like later DS9 was a fun one to watch!
Mav
Interesting idea. Some how, I can just picture an entire episode being done with Klingons and Jem Ha'Dar singing battle songs in the ships Mess Hall together (even though the Jem Ha'Dar don't eat nor drink...). TFMF
A mirror Universe episode maybe - It is the kind of thing you'd expect in the Mirror Universe - with DS9 we saw the Klingons and Cardassians allied together - so this wouldn't be far off... motoxjesse
So many times i noticed that the Jem Ha'Dar and the Klingons had much in common, the Jem Ha'Dar seem to understand them, or so it looked to me.
TFMF
A good example is By Inferno's Light (DS9 season 5) The Jem Hadar 1st at the internmant camp chooses not to kill Worf because he is impressed by his courage. He yields and lets Worf win even though he could easily have killed him. This shows that they both have a similar sense of honour.... (in my opinion) I really don't see any similarities like this between The Jem Hadar and the Federation
GlaC
Would be nice if the humans formed an alliance with the Dominion, in the mirror universe to fight a war against, the klingon cardassian alliance... Maybe bring some other species into it... Maybe the Breen...
Tenebrae
Maybe have something where instead of going on about the BALANCE OF POWER IN THE ALPHA QUADRANT - it does actually does. Well, it has already. What with Cardassia being crippled, the Klingons too... hell, EVERYONE took a pounding. Maybe some kind of reconstruction effort could be involved - Auf Wiedersehen Pet in space!

Jounin
One of the allures of Star Trek is that it is always exposing you to new technology. First with TOS, then Cooler stuff with TNG, then even cooler with Voyager, and a Space Station which was both novel and super cool in DS9. ENT took us back in time, to when phasers and transporters are crappy, and the ships were super slow. It was OK, but fans have come to expect new tech and big battles. I was turned off to enterprise from day one because of the time period. I still gave it a try, but it never had the allure that DS9 did.
Guest c4evap
The whole Enterprise series should have been set in the MU. That would have been interesting. c4 B)
motoxjesse
yeah wat the hell was going on in those times on earth?? did they ever mention?
Tenebrae
c4: MU? Marvel Universe? jounin: I think one reason for ENT was to get AWAY from all the tech because as time progressed treknobabble was proliferating like a cancer. One thing no one can say about ENT is that they OD'd on treknobabble... sadly, it didn't stop the show from regularly being dull as dishwater... Well, the first 2 seasons at least. Tenebrae
Actually, no. I stayed up until about 6am and got up at 9... not quite firing on all cylinders. Besides what with Orion slave girls, we're already partway toward the Marvel universe (She-Hulk!) Just imagine the hilarity of (another) trek/marvel crossover. T'Pol: Captain, we're picking up a group of lifesigns on the planet below. Readings indicate they're all wearing titilating costumes. Archer: Are they in some kind of decontimination chamber? T'Pol: It doesn't appear so... I believe one of them is trying to contact me mentally. OH NO, IT'S TRIGGERED MY PON'FAR! Archer: Archer to Phloxx, get Trip ready for a good time. And then Magneto would probably show up and rip the ship in half or something. You get the gist of it.

motoxjesse
hey cbosdell! hows the writing going? its weird for me to see "fans" for enterprise as in my opinion it never measured up to a 10th of the other series, but maybe its my generation, i dunno

The rest were excellent imho.
