motoxjesse
Did any of you start listening to James Darren (Vic Fontain) after DS9, or were there people here that heard him before? I was always a big Sinatra fan so i admit to listening like crazy when i heard him

Mav
Can't say I did. But on a somewhat-kindof related note, after loving every last episode of Angel, I absolutely adored Andy Hallett's singing. They didn't use a voice actor or anything for all his songs in the show, the guy can really sing. And honestly, just like with Vic I was never a fan of "lounge" music persay, but I'll be damned if old Andy couldn't just put me in a perfect state of peace in my mind just with his music. I'm not religious but if I had to call it, he literally has what I would call the voice of an angel (no pun intended obviously). His songs on the Angel the Series soundtrack are awesome, though I wish they would have included that one he sung in "Never Fade Away" :(
Amnot Borg
nope, never really listened to James Darren, although I'm pretty sure he had a fair audience when younger. for lounge type singing, Brent Spiner isn't horible either.
Tenebrae
I believe Spiner is the only cast member of TNG to have released an album. Apparently they actually tried to get Frank Sinatra Jnr. to play the role of Vic Fontaine but it didn't work out.

Amnot Borg
as I found it on imdb. The character that eventually became Vic Fontaine was written for Frank Sinatra Jr.. in Season 4. Sinatra, despite being a fan of the show, turned it down, declaring that he only wanted to play an alien. After meeting with Robert Goulet, and attempting to get Steve Lawrence, Tom Jones and Jerry Vale, the producers eventually decided on James Darren in Season 6. Darren would go on to appear in 8 episodes, including the series finale.
Tenebrae
Yup, imdb is where I saw it too. Can you imagine what it would have been like with Tom Jones? Man, I'd just have folded up everytime he came on. Especially in the episode where Nog is recuperating.
GhostShadow
nope, I never listened to him and I never realyl will. He isnt my style. My style is Screamo, thrash, and metal, and Techno. THe kind of music were your face turns real red when yous sing, lol. But Vic was kinda annoyign to me. The Idea of a Hologram like him that can do all of that... was kinda weird. I know the EMH can, but he is a Doctor... he has a reason to do that....
