Harry Kim. There was an EP where he died (Deadlock I believe?) and I was like...cool, they finally killed that annoying SOB off. Yeah, right. Of course the writers found a way to bring him back by story's end! COSSACKS!

Harry Kim died in the season 1 episode Emanations as well. Although, that was a different Harry Kim as the Harry that survives Deadlock is a copy.

Archer was annoying in season 3... Sisko managed to pull off the whole moral grey zone but with Archer it was pretty much a switch he'd flick. Is he going to be nice to aliens today? Or is he going to be tossing them in airlocks and crippling their ships? It was so arbitrary.

Additionally - how can you suggest Leeta was annoying? She was a secondary character that appeared in all of 13 episodes. If what she was saying was getting to you, just look at her ample bosom.

Also - I'm AMAZED Troi isn't on that list. Considering Wesley didn't manage more than a couple of seasons on the Enterprise-D, Troi has to be more annoying. What with constantly getting knocked up or "sensing emotion". When she passed the "exam" to become a commander - after Riker told her the answer - and commented on outranking Data... if that isn't annoying WHAT IS?

Probably best to put it in terms of shows:

TNG: Troi - her empathy was about as much use as a chocolate teapot on the surface of the Sun. Left in control of the Enterprise for 5 minutes and she manages to crash it into a planet.

DS9: Kai Wynn - admittedly Ferengi of all shapes and sizes are annoying pseudo-comedic by the time of DS9 but Kai Wynn was another "OOO, she's evil!" With her diabolical machinations. She seemed to give that up after a while for just coming to the station and getting on Sisko's tits though.

VOY: Well... spoilt for choice really but I'd say Neelix. His only discernable purpose on the ship was to relate pointless anecdotes - most people were guilty of that but him more so than most - and flirt/annoy Tuvok. I'd rather have seen the part played by a cybernetic super badger.

ENT: Hard because there is such an overwhelming lack of personalities... Probably Archer.

Have to agree that Troi was the most annoying character ever, all she ever seemed to do was wait till a fight and then say "i'm sensing some tension" or something bad happens and she says "i'm sensing sorrow". Stating the bleedingly obvious has never been anything but annoying ... TO THE MAX.

I voted Other.

Other being, Young Alexander on TNG. Now I enjoyed older Alexander on DS9, cause at least he had some purpose with Worf's character. But young Alexander was annoying.

"I don't WANNA be a warrior!"

I actually liked Kai Winn, cause at any moment I always expected Kira to just get fed up with her B.S. and pelt her across the mouth. That and I loved her teaming up with the one man she hated more than anything at the end of DS9, a Bajoran version of Gul Dukat.

ok, I voted Kai Winn. but she isnt really annoying as a charachter, i just dont like the preson who played her. I was watching the special features and when she had her interview she wouldnt know what was star trek if it hit her upside the head. and she looked like a fish... sorta.

If you notice, Rom's character TOTALLY changes from the first 2 seasons to the 3rd.

In the first and a bit of the second, he's quite backstabbing and scheming but obviously they thought it would be better to turn him into a simpering moron. I do so hate comic relief characters... what greater admission is there of your inadequacy as a writer than a character purely to make humour?
