meateater
Also' date=' if you work on your non-main abilities, you'll get more stats when you level, as the amount by which a stat can be raised relates to its.[/quote'] Yup. Started doing that. Got it worked out so that I'll have full strength and endurance by level 7. Took me a couple of tries to get the receipe right, though. Fenriswolf
hehe..nice one... For some reason i still like the HL2 physics engine better... (maybe thats just me..) BTW: I think the the 'Lord Arkay' loves Nirvana :) HL2 and Oblivion share the same engine for physics if I remember, Havoc.
Tenebrae
Really? They seem different... Oblivion is a lot slower to react. They are of the same ilk but not the same... although that could be down to tweaks. Physics, is - I imagne - the next big area of game improvement. I mean, graphics can get better but only so much and as pretty as games are - physics (especially destroyable terrtain) are the next frontier. subspatial
HL2 and Oblivion share the same engine for physics if I remember, Havoc. yep, dead right (i think everyone uses 'havoc' now) But things in Oblivion don't seem to 'feel' right, It's like they don't have the right weight or something. It seems harder to carry and stack/build things in Oblivion, and for some reason bodies and objects just don't act in the same way as HL2. In HL2 i spent days making jumps for my hovercraft to fly over, and little buildings out of boxes. But in Oblivion i have trouble trying to make a stack books sit right.... Oh well, maybe if i had a zero-point/gravity-cannon it would be easier :)
Fenriswolf
I might make a thread on something called PhysX. Oblivion for me is one of the better games that's been made recently, love the TES series of games though and I can't wait to see what they do with a 5th game, there's got to be one. The havoc engine is extremely 'tweakable' in many ways and you can code in various reactions/actions ontop of the standard fare iirc.
Megalith
just watched that domino vid lol gotta love it lol but yeah the swords just aint right they seem to cut rope by falling flat onto it which just aint real huh and yep the next gen of game engines are gonna be somethin else huh
GorunNova
i.e. the guy who made the mod should have rotated those blades around the vertical axis by 90 degrees... but given how Oblivion uses bounding rectangles, it wouldn't have fallen right. ^^
meateater
I just had to start over because of a mistake in choosing some of my major skills. Wasted about 3-4 weeks of gameplay. Dammit...
Tenebrae
You suck, this version gives the magic user a chance to shine - hoorah.
Arktis
Best Oblivion video EVER! I know this is off-topic, but if you think that's cool, then you should watch this.
Fenriswolf
Yep, seen that Arktis, s'wicked :) I want to see if someone actually comes up with a proper Rube Goldberg machine in Oblivion heh.
kyran
I wish theyd make it possible to play even on a 5 year old machine, you know a budget version if you like without the bells n whistles. just upgrade your graphics card to a 6800 the darn game is graphics intensive, runs at top specs on mine lol but i don't play it scotts runs it on his at medium specs he has a 5900xt in his less than that and i don't think it'll be worth buying it
