I felt that it was pretty stupid of them to setup the whole prelude to Federation thing and then go "Oh... sorry, that's not going to happen now." Well, why not? They could just have had Archer deliver such an awesome speech everyone went. OLOZ, Federation FTW!

And goodness gjnave - plagarism? Well, you're getting marked 0 for this assignment.

Not liking Voyager, eh? I'll check this "Jammers" out.

As to Trip and T'Pol... I'd have taken that romance more seriously if they hadn't changed it from T'Pol/Archer. Or maybe they enjoyed the flipflopping on romantic interests that worked so well in Voyager?

yeah they could have at least let Archer speak it didn't make it clear how close they were to the Federation forming. Wasn't this the same scene that Daniels said was the start of the Federation?

I actually liked the final episode at first but as time has gone by and with no further Star Trek I have felt more and more annoyed that they didn't finish it better.

I have also felt that a bit about Sisko's situation at the end of DS9 which they could have at least have mentioned in the movies which are after he left and may have returned. (He said I will return it may be a year it may be yesterday [ or something like that ])

As to the T'Pol/Archer thing I think she was interested in him but Archer didn't feel the same way as seen in "Twilight" it took him a while to realise that what she gave up for him was more than a freindly gesture. I didn't give it much credence as a romance until the last season where T'Pol got married and Trip said he just realised he had fallen in love with her.

By the end of the terra prime episodes it seemed clear that it would get more serious (and they couldn't easily set it aside due to the telepathic link ) and then the final episode they just said it ended weird if you ask me.

What's the difference between the last episode of Enterprise and a bucket of puke?

The bucket!

p.s. this is the only ST EP you will ever hear me diss...it was that bad!

I think the point from the jammers review is valid - Night In Sickbay... Precious Cargo... the one with the Ferengi... I don't think that These Are The Voyages was as bad as them.

The Trip/T'Pol thing was just contrived from the start... and from what I can tell, a lot of it was just (another) excuse to get tittilation out of T'Pol.

I have to say though that I feel DS9 had a rather unsatisfactory finale... it wasn't bad and I know a lot of people think that it was a fitting end to the show but it was kind of anti-climactic. I know they did the big fight in the last episode but the Dominion just rolling over was pretty disappointing and then we had a slew of clips to drown us in schmaltz.

I wonder if the whole Trek United thing messed with the episode. What I mean is, mayeb the writers were holding out that they were going to get the next season, and so when it fell through they were unprepared. hmm...

Oh, no. They definitely knew they'd been axed by that point.

In fact, I think they were pretty much facing the threat of cancellation before they even hit the air. I might be mistaken but I think they knew about halfway through production of the season. In any event, I think that being renewed would have been taken them unprepared.

they were told of the cancellation while they were filming 4x19 - In A Mirror, Darkly, Part II so they probably were already doing the scripts for Terra Prime and maybe even TATV. Berman and Braga have said that either way that episode would have been the season finale just that if there was a season five that Trip wouldn't have died.

I was not a fan of Enterprise... however' date=' I liked the finale (mostly).[/quote']

Well, yeah... a finale is something you're especially gonna appreciate if you're not a fan of the show in question. Hahaha. ;)

I recently re-watched the four seasons and am left with the same feelings I had after seeing the finale the first time. It all felt contrived. Aliens that we were told couldn't catch Enterprise not only catch up but board the ship. AND THEN, not only are there no MAKOs, there's no Reed. Some weapons officer. AND THEN, the aliens manage to run into only the Captain and Engineer.

I can understand the intention of recognizing 18 or so years of Trek but I feel this crew got shorted. I especially hated the death of Trip. Sorry way to end such a good character. As if such a good engineer could only come up with "Let's blow myself up". Please.

And we don't even get to hear Archer's speech.

Overall, I enjoyed Enterprise. Like any of the Treks, it had its highs and its lows. I'll just move forward and pretend this episode was a corrupt holodeck program.

It would be funny if people tried boarding an Imperial Star Destroyer. Those things have a troop compliment in the TENS OF THOUSANDS. What does Starfleet field on its vessels? Like... 2 security teams.

Boarding is never really shown in Trek... with the exception of the Borg and occasionally (when it suited them) the Jem'Hadar. B5 made it clear it was a MUCH more serious threat.

Last thing you want are a bunch of enemy troops on your ship.
