Dextera Posted June 4, 2006 Share Posted June 4, 2006 i just watched an episode of TNG named "Violation" it was about memory reading aliens and such, and in this they attack troy (as all bad guys seem to enjoy doing) i noticed a consistency between this episode and the new movie Nemisis. something very odd altho im hopeing its just coincidence. dureing the 'rape' scenes, the attack whispers the word 'Imzadi' (spelling taken from the script i have for Nemisis.) both had them the same, said the same way, in a whispery voice. i wonder, could this be her name in the betazed language? (funny how this site loads perfect all the time... go figure) anyways, care to share your findings? :P (i could wait till my sis has gone to bed then look it up. google loads then.) In this book the origin and specific usage of the word by Riker/Troi is explained. As a matter of fact: lover doesn't even begin to describe the meaning this word has for Riker and Troi (and many other Betazoids). Sure, pockets are not canon, but ask any true fan or any involved actor and they will tell you if any book is an exception to that fact, than it is this one! Good book btw. Yar ( though she was a much tougher character not the sort you picka fight with ) So naturally the writters used her several times as a target for attacks. You're lucky. Some people have been known to wake up in a cold sweat shouting, "Beard!". Anyways, I always noticed it when they would use the word "imzadi" because it always stood out to me as corny. Deanna's telepathic assailants obviously used that because a.)it's creepy and b.)It just drives home the point.
