ENT: TrekUnited was contacted by Paramount...

There's a more detailed post on the TrekBBS about this thing with Spike TV. This is a new development.

Tom Moore the Administrator of Trek United contacted a guy at the Boston Herald who wrote up that article. The article emphasized recent public comments made by Spike TV in regards to the fan movement and possible reincarnation of Enterprise.

When Spike TV talks about "taking on Enterprise" they are talking about airing a 5th season. Just in case anybody's confused about how this works, this doesn't conflict with Paramount talking with TU...Paramount has to decide to produce a fifth season, THEN they have to find somebod to AIR it...

This news about Spike TV couldn't have come at a better time, right when the skies are looking their bluest for the show coming back, we were about to have to start asking ourselves where to put the show because apparently UPN reiterated yesterday that their decision to cancel it (on THEIR network) is final.

See what I think is funny is that this is all one big person where the right hand doesn't want to be involved in what the left hand is doing. Paramount, UPN and Spike are all part of the same legal corporation - yet Paramount is the one producing Star Trek....UPN is the one cancelling it...And Spike TV is the one taking it on as a new show, hahaha, I swear.

Oh well, long as Enterprise gets back on the air. And btw, if anyone is still curious, this wasn't an ambiguous house call from Paramount - it IS about negotiations to produce/fund/film Season 5. That much we have been told by TU over at BBS.

I hope they can rescue the series. Archer is much better than Janeway. Will they kill off T'Pol though? She really ruined Trip's chances of being Archer's first officer.

pff, who needs Trip anyway, all he does is... get T'Pol naked... and... ok, your right.

Some points to keep in mind:

1. "TU" is a bunch of anonymous names on the Internet.

2. The show is NEVER going back to UPN, no matter what happens.

3. There is no official word from Viacom, CBS, Paramount, or Spike TV that talks are ongoing, or that the money exists.

4. It took TWO YEARS for the Farscape fans to finally get an ending to the show.

5. The official website, "Star Trek Dot Com", insists that the show is cancelled, and the sets have been struck.

dont be so negative von....as i once was told "always look on the bright side of life" things can always turn around..

Oh, I'm hopeful something will turn up.........No one wants a 5th season more than I do!

However, I don't want it to be a FALSE hope.

False Hope?

Lets define hope, shall we?

the general feeling that some desire will be fulfilled; "in spite of his troubles he never gave up hope"

a specific instance of feeling hopeful; "it revived their hope of winning the pennant"

Are you truly hopeful VonHelton? Because, in my short time on this forum, say except 2 posts in reply to nites posted topic about spike having interests in Enterprise, you have been negative always.

Sure, you may be right. Maybe enterprise's fate is sealed. But fo those of us that continue to hope for a 5th season, your posts bring nothing but dread.

1. "TU" is a bunch of anonymous names on the Internet.

Those "anonymous names" have over 3mil........

2. The show is NEVER going back to UPN, no matter what happens.

Who really cares? As long as its on a station somewhere, i'm sure most people would be content.

3. There is no official word from Viacom, CBS, Paramount, or Spike TV that talks are ongoing, or that the money exists.

Do you have proof that they're not?

4. It took TWO YEARS for the Farscape fans to finally get an ending to the show.

This is true. However Farscape does not have as wide a fan base as Star Trek, nor did they raise near the same ammount of money.

5. The official website, "Star Trek Dot Com", insists that the show is cancelled, and the sets have been struck.

Sets have been stored. Hell, they still have the TNG sets stored..... And of course the official website states that the show is cancelled, because as it stands right now, it is. Remember, thats what we are fighting to change.

Hell' date=' they still have the TNG sets stored..... [/quote']

TNG is B&B's baby.......That's why. It's also why we are getting a TNG ending for ENT.

No TOS sets were stored.....

No DS9 sets were stored.....

No VOY sets were stored.....

Let's say you're right, and these anonymous people on the 'Net actually sway a mega-corporation to do something they wish not to.......

Where will you be in 2 or 3 years? Will you even CARE about ENT by then? Hell, will you even be alive by then??

Do you think any of the cast is gonna wait 2 years without steady work? Would you wait that long?

TU has enough money for 1 episode......A 2 hr episode if we're really lucky.

.....This will fix the B&B "Valentine", but that's about it.

I don't want this whole board jumping on my back because I gave them false hope.

I will be contacting Viacom, CBS, Paramount, UPN & Spike on or about 4/15. Whatever they tell me is what I'll post here, for everyone to see.

Deal?
