Yeah' date=' I hate shops in easy walking distance, running water and reliable electricity.[/quote']

I've got all that (and more). I live in a small city off of a major interstate highway. It's just not a huge urban area with concrete covering almost everything within a 100 mile radius, smog up the ass 24/7, and bright amber lights all over the place during the night. Crap like that really destroys your view of the stars. I should know, because I grew up in a place like that. Where I live now, we actually have wilderness around us, and fresh air. The best of both worlds, really.

ENT's first season is easily its worst but I think that's true for all Trek except TOS.

I guess I'll have to take your word for it. I don't think I'll be getting my hands on the rest of it any time soon.

Yeah, I know how you feel. It was like halfway through season 2 of Lost I just went "I can't be bothered."

Star Trek never seemed to learn that you can't just hope people will remember what the show used to be and keep watching for the first 3 years until you can actually start making the show good. I honestly don't think there is any excuse for a show not being good in its first season. Don't give me this "establishing characters" nonsense, many shows have been good from the get go. Star Trek just never seemed to get going until season 3 (I'd say that holds true for TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT).

There is absolutely no excuse for spelling can with a k. Might want to try using the shift key a bit too. Pretend it's a game called "adult punctuation and grammar".

I enjoyed Enterprise, but only after I decided that it was more Galaxy Quest and less Star Trek. (Just a fun space opera that I could enjoy) I admit that as much as I enjoy the female form, I was quickly tired of the "Large Breasted Crewmember Of The Series" vibe that haunted Enterprise and Voyager.

Also, I found that the timing of a Star Trek prequel seemed a bit of a rip off of the Star Wars prequels, (at least to me) and more than a bit uninventive.

I found the majority of the characters bland and rather cookie cutter. That said, I find that with any of the modern Trek series, the character of that paticular series doesnt seem to gel until the 3rd-4th season anyway. So perhaps if Enterprise had lasted, it would have lived up to its potential. (Some eps of the last season certainly made me think that might be the case, specifically the episodes written by the Reeves-Stevens's) I figured that it made sense that we would start out exploring, start meeting other races, and then have to do more patroling and diplomatic work in order to create the federation. I hoped that the series would turn a corner and lead to the formation of the Federation, and not just the ceremony that the last episode portrays.

Manny Coto had a great vision and had started to redeem the series, however it was largely being marketed to the wrong audience, and never really had a chance to make it.

And to not use the Star Trek theme? That was just a horrid decision!

Tire of the series, not the large breasts.

Yeah, Manny Cotto made some bold and impressive moves... it's a shame he wasn't onboard from the start.

I think that everything was against Enterprise though. RDM talks about "the atmosphere" when he was on Voyager... you rather get the impression that never dissipated and probably continued through to Enterprise. On top of the fact it got moved around the schedule, people had been getting Trek for getting almost 15 solid years.
