I recently purchased this item on Ebay (picture below) and I'm trying to find out what (if any) EP (or movie) of Star Trek it appeared in. It's a kinda tankard/mug/cup/thingy and has the Klingon symbol on it. Printed on the bottom it says: © Paramount Pictures. Anyone know?

I believe it was once sold by Bill Shatner's web site store - but no longer...and they offered no info.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, looks like it came from one of the later TOS features. (style and such) But when you take such Klingon items out of context and place them into ordinary lighting, they all usually look kind of retro, so maybe we're being misguided here. ;)

It's actually more of a greyish color. I think the blue hue came from the camera flash.

So, I'll have to re-watch The Undiscovered Country and see if it's in there somewhere. I believe I did see it somewhere but can't seem to remember (the mind is the first thing to go).

BTW: the Klingon symbol is a raised design fired on - not painted on (if anyone's interested).

It's just a variation of the standard stock Klingon cup. I believe I saw these kinds of cups being used in TNG during the two-parter Klingon civil war story, and also when Riker goes aboard a Klingon ship for the officer exchange program, and when Picard talks to the dying Klingon Emperor. There are other instances as well but I can't recall them all. I think Khaless's clone used one too. They were definately used in DS9 a few times as well, always by Klingons.

Of all these instances, I can't recall one in which the cups actually had a logo. And they always appeared with a dull gray metalic color, and I do not actually think that they ever had such an exagerated curve... or were made from clay for that matter...but the style is always the same.

But you already knew all of this I'm sure.

In short, I do not think this particular design ever appears in TV/Movie cannon.

LOL. Actually...no. That's why I asked. I tend not to notice minutiae. I will keep an eye out for it to see if it shows up.

The one I have is ceramic. Didn't know they were also made of metal.

I'm also collecting the plaques given to the cast of Voyager by the set construction crew at the end of every season. So far I have one from season 2. I was bidding on 3 others (season 1, 3 and 5) but some big spender out bid me by a country mile!

Ah ha!

I was watching the episode " You Are Cordially Invited " (DS9 - season 6 episode 7) and i noticed that Dax, Worf and Alexander (Worf's son) were drinking out of cups very similar to the one you bought - although i didn't notice the klingon symbol
